Its 15 yards, so the OP is being conservative in spending. Its generally understood that 2.5-3K is the minimum starting point for those demanding distances. Particularly if you want to “send the rats flying”…🙈🙄🤓😈 Might be less expensive to set up some sort of squirrel launcher…

I would suggest you consider a .22 BRK Pathfinder, just right in size, lots of shots per fill and shoots the CPHPs? Particularly at your stated max distance like 💥💥💥. Proof of concept at 50 yards, sending CPHPs. The gun has done this over and over again with various, unfortunate critters…🙏

Maybe only head/brain shots and though it’s counterintuitive maybe “slow down” projectile speed so that the pellet can maybe stay in the critters body… At your described max range? Head shots should be gimme shots with a good PCP, the sender doing their part of course…

Shooting targets in the wind is a fun way to learn what different wind directions do to my pellets. That said, like you on windy days I limit my yardages to sub 40 yards for pest control. Definitely not fun to wound a critter, even if it’s a pest… I have done it and know the terrible feeling it...
