Just picked up this rifle, and while I have seen other Indian rifles, I have never heard of one being in .20, can anyone shed some light on this?

Anyone know how many of these were made? The serial numbers on this rifle starts with 45 000××× I have not seen a serial over 973, so maybe 1,000 made? These rifles were only made in 1999. Any info on it would be great!
