Squirrels, .25 pellets, JSB Kings vs Polymag what would be your choice?

I don't want to go down the slug rat hole, because all my shots are at 40 yards or less. Although the FX type slugs look like they would expand quite well and maybe will have more penetration than the Polymags. If I ever do shoot slugs it would be for a .357/9mm and probably cast or swage my own.

    Compressed Air to N2

I use a low pressure regulator that goes with 0 to 15 psi for my CS4. I set the Boost tube about 4 PSI. That gives me the same current draw as using the CS4 to it's fully rated 350 bar and I get that current draw at only 300 bar.

Squirrels, .25 pellets, JSB Kings vs Polymag what would be your choice?

I'm just surprised in 2 ways with gut shooting a squirrel with a 0.25 Polymag. The pellet was going 920 fps at the muzzle, squirrel only 22 yards away. 1. The amount of damage in the entrance hole to the side of the squirrel. 2. Even with that extreme wound, the squirrel still ran off quickly...

Squirrels, .25 pellets, JSB Kings vs Polymag what would be your choice?

These shot were taken when my webcam wakes me up early in the morning. I'm half asleep and not in my best for aiming, I had these Polymags never tried them for game, so gave them a go. Thought maybe any body placement would be good enough. If I was awake I could/would put just a 12 fpe .177 into...

Squirrels, .25 pellets, JSB Kings vs Polymag what would be your choice?

Using my squirrel feeder I nailed 2 so far. The 1st one was with a .25 JSB kings at 940 fps at the muzzle, 22 yards to the target. The pellet went through the body and I believe got both lungs, maybe heart too. The squirrel went flying at impact, DRT. 2nd squirrel was sitting on the back legs...

3d printed bird proof squirrel feeder.

Usually people want to have a bird feeder that is squirrel proof. Sometimes the reverse is needed. A squirrel feeder that is bird proof. I was nice and gave them a little ledge to rest their feet on while they eat their final meal. A .25 JSB King at 930 fps blew right through both lungs sending...

I use modified rat trap increasing the spring pressure by 50% and adding a bunch of nails. It nails the squirrels real well while you sleep.

Increase FPE by 70% with Helium? The AirForce Texan HE Experiment!

From AI an example of the weight saved, assuming a 200 bar 60cc plenum that is dump 100% quite a savings in weight. 186 grains. Even of only 1/2 of the plenum is dumped that is probably more weight that the slug/pellet your are shooting! To compare the mass of 60 cc of compressed air vs. helium...

Increase FPE by 70% with Helium? The AirForce Texan HE Experiment!

I don't think it has much to do with smaller and slipperier and more to do with having much less mass for the equivalent amount of compressed gas. Remember whatever gas you use, the gas must also be accelerated down the barrel same as the projectile.
