    Airforce .177

Twenty or so years ago a guy in our club shot with one. He was an excellent shooter and did well with it. Back then the guns were really popular. I say if you have it use it.

FX The older guns that never get mentioned. My FXT12FT.

I guess not so much I meant old but more before the drastic shift in style. There were already sidelever cocking like ev2, lg100 etc. but the Impact come out and shifted pretty much everything from bolt to sidelever, wood stock to more tactical.

I didn’t know about the non ft guns not having a gauge. Was the FT a special only through AOA?

FX The older guns that never get mentioned. My FXT12FT.

Most of my guns fall under the they are well past being discussed because they are no longer made or old fashioned compared to the current offerings. I forget when the T12 was even made. I picked this one up used on Craigslist a few years ago. It had a slight leak and the owner had the trigger...

    Which is better?

I prefer the clean dry air. I have taken apart a few used guns that had been hand pumped or filled with the pcp compressors. They were pretty nasty inside. I have four scuba tanks two of the 3,000 psi and two of the 3,300. The 3,300 tanks are heavy. I also have one carbon fiber 4,500 psi tank...

How long does a pcp airgun bottle last for?

I still shoot my 35ish year old Sportsmatch GC2. I don’t think any have exploded since Thatcher was in charge.

    Airgun Market Shift?

I buy almost exclusively used but the price shift that has frustrated me is the price of pellets. I average 1-2 tins a week. The Crosman .22 hp were around $6 and change and looking right now Amazon is $12.99. PA and AGD are $11.48. They have doubled? And JSB 14.3 are $28.99 at PA. 🤯

Daystate pulsar VS Daystate Air Wolf? Which would you pick

Love my .22 Pulsar in walnut. I don’t have a wolf but I have a Pulsar. Only issue I have had was the bubble level drained out. This doesn’t bother me but the position of the cocking lever does mean your hand comes off the grip to cycle the gun. And a feature about the Pulsar I somehow...

FWB P70JR barn find and rehab.

You are too kind. I don’t think it would work on an open grain stock but if you have any with a sealed finish this stuff is cheap and works great.

FWB P70JR barn find and rehab.

The rifle came with a cool old school Leopold scope but the had it way toward the back of the rifle where you practically had to have your cheek hanging off the back of the rifle. This is because it wouldn’t clear the loading port. I added a riser under the scope and now have it out front for a...

FWB P70JR barn find and rehab.

Now for fun stuff. The P70 had a shroud that was ported and man was it loud! Now was time for fun stuff. The new owner of the rifle had an extra RAW LDC but the shroud was a few mill thicker than the size of the LDC. With a drill press, piece of dowel, some blue painters tape and sandpaper I...

FWB P70JR barn find and rehab.

For reference of of who I am I essential color for a living on a computer but am not artistic in any real way. I have built few turbo Miata’s and can swap a transmission, turbo Miata’s break them a lot, or put a lunch box locker in a jeep differential. But that doesn’t mean I know what I’m...

FWB P70JR barn find and rehab.

After parts arrived I gave everything a cleaning and put it back together. This is where things took a turn. When attaching the cylinder if the gun was not cocked to take the pressure off the valve it would dump air. If I cocked the gun when attaching the cylinder it would valve lock and not...

FWB P70JR barn find and rehab.

While waiting on parts from the UK and Midwest I got to cleaning up the stock. I’m not sure what the discoloration was from but with some wet sanding, automotive polish, many coats of carnuba floor wax and some shoulder joint pain that just seems to be a gift from the FWB gods the stock came...

FWB P70JR barn find and rehab.

After searching around I quickly discovered that getting the cylinders apart was not easy and from chatting with some reputable tuners probably not going to be successful. The tubes and endplugs are aluminum and cranked super tight at the factory all but guaranteeing they will destroy...

FWB P70JR barn find and rehab.

An older local field target shooter decided it was time to thin his collection. A buddy picked up this P70JR that I am guessing had spent the last 20 years in the gun case in a damp SoCal coastal garage. I should have done a better job documenting it. The rifle had old club stickers, surface...
