HW/Weihrauch What barrel length will give highest velocity for the Weihrauch HW80 in .25 cal?

Increasing barrel length on a springer does not increase velocity in the same manner as it does in a PCP.

Soda can carnage at 300 yards!

Great post and it sounds like great fun. I thought it interesting that I did the post below quite a while back… I think your target choice is a perfect test for long range. And there’s no doubt whether there’s a hit or a miss...

Whiscombe JW80 MK2 .22 Silvertop off the bench

For some reason I was under the impression that John choked his barrels. After all they were intended for pellets. Have you tried slugs in yours? Is this just a Marktwo thing? I have one left my ETA. And I have some slugs. Lots of them in different sizes. I have shot a few sub 1 inch groups...

Wiley Raccoon is On My Hit List

Best bait is something in small pieces that they can’t pick up and take away. Cutting up hotdogs works very good and is cheap. Really thin slices like as thick as a nickel. Peanuts. Mike

    Selecting right pellet for competition

Shooting a spring Piston Airgun accurately is difficult. As long as you hold the same way on every shot you should be fine. When I test pellets, I shoot a half a dozen shots… usually you can tell in three or four shots whether the gun likes the pellet or not. Since you only have 20 yards at...

    A classic Airgun story

I was shooting it yesterday at 40 yards, they were all hitting the same spot about the size of a bottle cap.

    A classic Airgun story

When I was eight years old, probably around 1970, our local skate sharpener introduced us to the new rockered blade sharpening…Instead of having 4 inches of blade on the ice, it put about 1 inch of blade on the ice.

    A classic Airgun story

I think it might’ve been referred to as the deluxe or D model. My friend Harry from Oz had a friend who shot some very small groups at long range with his. I’ve been shooting it today offhand at 40 yards, with some old Crossman brown box 7.9‘s, it is very accurate. It is unrecognizable compared...

    A classic Airgun story

Many years ago, long before something called Covid, or the word pandemic became popular. There was a place called the yellow forum. . I used to post a lot, much more than recently. I also did a lot of stock work, and posted the results. I was contacted by another member of the yellow forum...

First attempt at sorting by weight

I would throw all the ones at the extreme ends of the scale for both top and bottom in a different pile expecting them not to perform as well. It would be interesting to see what kind of groups come from that pile…. Then group the others into two piles. It would be interesting to see what...

    Bait for Racoons?

you want things that are small so they can’t take them with them. Really cheap hotdogs cut in a little tiny slices plus peanuts work really well.

Penny and the Jets score one this afternoon after a horrendously long day of work

We didn’t actually get out for a walk until 4 o’clock, which is so ridiculous it was beautiful here this afternoon. 27 and sunny. I was walking along with my head down trying not to fall down in the ruts of snow that had frozen over since yesterday. And trying to shake off my day of work. I...

The 124 was every young man’s dream. The charts in Beemans book 📖 listing center to center accuracy and drop at various distances, clearly the 124 was the way to go! The silver jets just made it even better.
