slugs not tight 1st 1/4 of liner is this normal.

I believe that’s called a “lead in” pronounced leed in. It’s to help the projectile orientate properly as opposed to an abrupt edge that could damage the head of the projectile.

Zan .25 slugs 26.5gr are dirty out of the box?

So long as there isn’t white corrosion on them they should be fine. I have a few boxes of ZAN that sat in my garage (sealed), and the Texas heat seems to have brought some impurities to the surface. I tested them and they shoot exactly like the shiny ones.

FX Panthera Aftermarket Rail (Which is Best?)

I have both. They both have great qualities. Both are made in the USA, both fabricated to very high standards, both finished exquisitely, and both are very stiff. You can plop the rifle down on a bag/barricade and neither will flex or touch the barrel. The PR5 rail is narrower and has a more...

hBN (Hexagonal Boron Nitride) vs fouling

Given some of the information provided by others, I decided to pull one alcohol patch through before the dry patches during the seasoning process. The first patch was rather dirty and filled with lead, then two dry patches later it was really clean. These were shooting monster redesign...

hBN (Hexagonal Boron Nitride) vs fouling

Sorry it didn't work for you, thats what experimenting is all about! As I stated earlier... my first 200 shots showed a decrease in accuracy. I pulled 2 dry patches through every 50 shots and now the accuracy has been restored (I assume it was from leveling out / cleaning out any excess hBN)...

While most would argue against the aesthetics, I love the functionality of chassis’s.

Custom Huben GK1 from Palm Beach Airguns

You might have better luck finding oversized.22 Projectiles. And they should be quieter and more efficient than .177.

hBN (Hexagonal Boron Nitride) vs fouling

I have some more interesting results to share. Today I did a bunch of slug shooting using my RAW HM1000x (with hBN coated barrel). It looks like it took about 200 rounds to knock off all the high spots / excess hBN. During this period I was seeing a decrease in velocities & accuracy...

    Any armadillo hunters?

I believe it. No criticism here. I just haven't felt the need to exterminate them around here.

    Any armadillo hunters?

I've thought about it. They do a fair amount of damage to our lawn. But in the end I like that they eat the centipedes, fire ants, and grass killing grubs!

hBN (Hexagonal Boron Nitride) vs fouling

I wouldn't recommend this. The objective is for the hBN to bond to the clean metal barrel and fill the imperfections. A wax would likely hinder its ability to bond properly.

    A proper bench

Maybe I used the wrong term. This bench came with heavy duty adjustable feet (I called them caster feet). I certainly wouldn't use anything with wheels! 😆

    A proper bench

While I really don’t enjoy shooting off of a bench, it can be a useful tool when testing different products and tunes. For years I’ve shot off of a Lifetime (like Rubbermaid) portable table, then recently I purchased a Caldwell Stable Table. Both did ok for what they were, but I needed...
