    Taipan Taipan Fill Probe Question…

Yes, that's what I do to mine. Just leave it there all the time since it's so low profile. Although mines are Veteran 1.

    Taipan Taipan Fill Probe Question…

I think so. You should by the probe from Huma Air. It fits better going in than the stock probes.

    SABOT PLEASE

Just one question, is it safe to use sabot with suppressor? It seems to me that there is risk of the sabot clipping the suppressor when it starts to separate from the projectile after exiting the muzzle of the barrel.

N/A What's this about "cold barrels?"

The term came from firearms. In airguns, the term is used more to indicate the first shot after the gun hasn't been fired in a while. This would also hint at the issues of this first shots and how it affects the point of impact (not necessarily temperature related) such as regulator creep and...

Taipan I got a new Taipan Veteran!

Here are the final forms (for now) for these two rifles. .22 caliber on top with the night scope, and .25 caliber at the bottom. Both have unchoked CZ barrels. The .22 has the Huma regulator set to 88 bars shooting the 15.89gr Hades at 883 FPS. Gets a smidge over 60 shots from a full fill at 27...

JSB King Heavy Mk2 .25 33.95gr BC check

One thing I can think of was that on the night I tested, the weather conditions and air pressure might be changing very rapidly and the weather app I'm using was not updating real time. On the night test as well, I had a small LED flashlight pointed at the chronograph so I could see readings...

JSB King Heavy Mk2 .25 33.95gr BC check

On a different note, I also retested the .22 Hades 15.89gr. while I had the chronograph setup downrange. I've been shooting these at 940 FPS and have always gotten 0.017 BC. I reduced the velocity to 880 FPS a few weeks ago and now the BC is 0.025.

JSB King Heavy Mk2 .25 33.95gr BC check

I just retested this again with the chronograph at 33 meters and also with a bit different air pressure during the day compared to the night test I did previously. This time, I got 0.053 BC which I think is much more reasonable.

What kind of damages do spring airguns cause to scopes?

With the obvious loose lenses and rattling inside, what other sort of damages, that are less noticeable, can spring airguns do to scopes? I ask because when I first bought my SWFA 3-15x42 5 years ago, I put it on my first airgun which is a .22 caliber Air Arms TX200 springer. That scope stayed...

    Taipan Why I like Taipan(s)

Ok whew... I'm well below that... 128 bars on mine.

    Taipan Why I like Taipan(s)

What do you consider power junkie in terms of the valve stem durability? Is 52 FPE in .25 caliber a power junkie?

JSB King Heavy Mk2 .25 33.95gr BC check

I'm using the Caldwell optical chronograph. And yes, I only have one and alternate between the muzzle and down range reading. Atmospheric conditions and elevation is accounted for in the calculation I posted above. By the way, if I don't input atmospheric conditions and merely use standard...

JSB King Heavy Mk2 .25 33.95gr BC check

I chrono'ed the JSB King Heavy Mk2 .25 at 25 meters to find the BC. I just want to double check my results because the numbers I'm getting is quite a bit higher than expected. I'm shooting them at 835 FPS at the muzzle and with the chronograph at 25 meters away, I'm getting a BC of 0.073. This...

Taipan I got a new Taipan Veteran!

I finally had the chance tonight to do the initial sighting in of this rifle since I was able to sort the scope situation with it. It's the first time I shot this rifle shouldered and it has a noticeable kick compared to even a .22 at 40 FPE. I have it shooting the 33.95gr JSB King Heavy at 52 FPE.
