Silicone is not a metal to metal lube! It will cause galling and eventually will ruin the threads. You can use a bit of Molly lube or GPL-204.

The bottle can be unscrewed but it is a lot easier and less chance of damage to the threads if it's not full. 150bar seems like a good trade off. PS do not put silicone on the threads!

As a note the Mountian Metal pic rail is not the same height front to back. And if you mount a compact scope with the eye piece further back you will need rings of 2 different heights. in my case I ended up with 2 different brands of adjustable rings.

Do the legs on your tripod spread out to almost flat? If shooting from a table it would help the tipping problem. Of course if you need the extra height that will not work.

Or more likely you were not used to the force required to get the pellets fully seated past the breach O-ring.

Did you clean the barrel while it was out? You may have some grime built up in the mm that wasn't being used to seat the pellets when the barrel wasn't all the way in. surprised you didn't have accuracy issues and I'd guess your speed was different.

My shroud is carbon. Once you've got as far as you have there should be no reason for it not to come off. But I don't have an 800mm barrel. The back part is screwed into the shroud but will take a lot of heat to get it to turn.
