    .177 hades accuracy terrible

I have had decent results out to 40yards. They are not as spot on as the regular 10.34's, but are acceptable, within reason. This is just my experience at my limited range. I have shot two tins and have come to the conclusion that 35 yards and in they are accurate and pack a punch. I have seen...

Fun SlowMo video 177 10.34gr JSB Balloons at 20yards

I thought so as well. seems the water cased the pellet to gradually deflect at angle where it came out in a direction which would cause it to miss the last ballon thanks for feed back. I was thinking the same thing. cheers

Testing .177s in 10% ballistic gel JSB 10.34, JSB Hades, Hunter Extreme, Polymag

You are exactly correct. There are many factors. The design geometry and composition of the pellet will absolutely be a contributor to the desired result. The shape of the expansion area is were I see being the main contributor. It will dictate all other factors as excellently pointed out by...

Testing .177s in 10% ballistic gel JSB 10.34, JSB Hades, Hunter Extreme, Polymag

Thanks, it's a screen shot from one of my videos. I used just natural earth model clay(cheap) from art store. Straight up DIABLOs went right through An observation: How a so called hollow point works effectively depended on a few factors. Mostly velocity of projectile and density of target...

Testing .177s in 10% ballistic gel JSB 10.34, JSB Hades, Hunter Extreme, Polymag

Sorry for two replies not a wiz with the computers. I have Chono data for both JSB's out to 36 yards, as well did an expansion test with the clay at numerous ranges out to 36 yard. That a as far as I shoot, I only use a red dot, no magnifying. At my max range they are still traveling...

Testing .177s in 10% ballistic gel JSB 10.34, JSB Hades, Hunter Extreme, Polymag

I hope these pics work. I think the trick is a fairly hi FPS. Around 800+. The pellets fired at the clay target were chonoed at 825Fps. I used cheap natural clay and made a wax cast out of cavity. The actual pellet is shown. Hope this works.

    Red dots on air rifles?

I considered a red dot as open sight as there is zero magnification I use an affordable bushnell. It has a 3MOA dot. It has held up terrific even on my jacked up springer. Gamo magnum in .177 approx 28 FPE The dot gives you the flexibility to change pellet weight and still ave a proper zero. By...
