FX FX Impact M4 first caliber

So, I’m a big believer in the Easy Tune system from “Shooting with Phil”. Keep the Maverick! You get almost the same thing as the Impact 4, except for the valve adjustment screw, bigger plenum and WAY easier to tune! Oh, and the cost is $130!

    Great idea!!!

    O rings installation tool

Softer brass tool/picks! Steel will scratch the reg and cause leaks and creeping. Most of the nylon picks are too soft, IMO.

    FX FX AMP regulator question

My journey is similar, about 3 years with my Maverick. Tried to do it with cheap, then really good break barrels but found these to be quite tough to shoot accurately. Hold, pellet choice, many variables. Enter the PCP era! Cheaper first (Avenger) then FX.

FX Problem with FX CF Sleeves

Great post! I wasn’t aware of this. I thought all carbon could be oxidized…..still don’t understand the chemistry of this, though! Must be heated in atmosphere without oxygen. Can diamonds burn, though?

    FX FX AMP regulator question

Got one……30/60, just never looked at the Delrin on the piston before. Dumb me!!! The brass looks great. Especially made sure the very tip, where the hole is, was a “flat” surface without scratches. I don’t get much creep, 3-4 bar but that sure makes first shot’s noisy and fast!

FX Problem with FX CF Sleeves

Well! We are the same age and I quit smoking more than 40 years ago. It coincided with the birth of my son. It’s interesting that the largest portion of deaths from asbestos were from those who also smoked. No, I am NOT saying asbestos was not part of the cause, at all! Clearly, the combination...

    FX FX AMP regulator question

Sorry, I’m confused. I was aware the delrin deforms some but are you saying the brass adjustment screw is not the problem and causes the creep? Cuz I’ve been polishing the screw not the delrin. I’ll polish the delrin as soon as I hear back from you. I agree about the Ti part but the PEEK plastic...

    FX FX AMP regulator question

Yup! Haven’t polished the delrin yet! Btw- just watched a new couple of threads from Ernest Rowe about titanium piston, replacing the brass piston with “PEEK” plastic (it’s a relatively new temp resistant chemistry) replacing the delrin. I bought a leather “wheel” for my grinder like the one...

    FX FX AMP regulator question

Does anyone know the size and thread type of the adjustment screw in the AMP regulator? I’d like to polish the mating portion of the screw to reduce any creep. I’m trying to make a jig that the adjustment screw would go into ( kinda like a bolt and screw) that would allow me to polish the head...

    N/A FX Wildcat MK3

Congrats on your gun! I almost got the Wildcat, 3.5 years ago! It is way better now in V3. I have a Maverick Compact of the same caliber. Shoots great!! I use the pellet port on mine. Similar std dev of 1.8 fps at 887fps with 15.9 FX pellets over 36 shots. Getting about 115 shots from 250 bar...

FX Problem with FX CF Sleeves

Sorry folks! Didn’t mean to offend anyone. Like I said, I was curious about why it was dangerous. I’m pretty up on the chemistry……not on the hazards of all the chemicals, though. I am certain that some “outlawed” chemicals were banned without science, however.

Sorry, Phil….thought you were speaking to me.

FX Maverick and Wildcat BT Quick Tune System

Yes, it’s a Sekhmet digital. Like I said everything got better once I fixed the front reg’s oring and lowered it to about 40 bar over the rear reg. From 150 bar(which I thought it was!!!) to 120-ish(analog). Rear reg was at about 80 bar. The bad front reg oring was allowing the full bottle...

FX Problem with FX CF Sleeves

Thanks for the replies. I’m a chemist and was thinking of the chemical reasons. Carbon will oxidize(burn) eventually. You don’t want a LOT of it in your lungs, though. The epoxy that binds the carbon fiber can be a bit toxic if unreacted parts ( epoxy or hardener) are present. I hadn’t thought...

    FX Fx maverick vp

You’ve read my mind! Getting a heavier hammer soon. Also already ordered some AEA pellets so I won’t have to weigh and sort the FX and JSBs to the nearest .1 grain! Don’t mind the sort issue as I’m retired, always looking for something to do!! The charts Phil has made are spot on for me now with...

FX Maverick and Wildcat BT Quick Tune System

Just posted this elsewhere. Thought it might interest you! Just a new piece of info for you. I was having trouble getting consistent strings without 1-2 high variance (20 fps )shots. Also was getting some creep in 2nd reg of 7-8 bar from 78 bar to 85-86. So I went back and checked the front reg...
