I just got a response from Taipan regarding the barrel band. The barrel band is included for middle east dealers. In middle east they prefer the band because of extreme high temperatures. Taipan tested it with and without the band, it gun is more accurate without the band.

There is one on ebay but it's really ugly. The placement kills the flow of the design of the gun. Though I don't know what where else one would mount one. Ebay Magazine

That's what it looks like, it comes uninstalled. I'm not an engineer but wouldn't the gun be more accurate with a barrel band to secure it in place? Sure, they touted as free floating barrel but what does that really mean,? Better harmonics? I would think depending on where one puts the barrel...

Mine came with the barrel band, but I can't figure out where it's attached to since I got the tactical version with 550mm barrel length. I'm assuming it's only for 700mm barrel versions. Mine is also the ADF version even though it doesn't say ADF on the receiver. I got my gun from Balistas.

Never heard of Krytox, but a quick search shows it's mostly for spring gun application? Interesting stuff though... I just got a response from Taipan, "normally we used BRUNOX or BALISTOL oils for cleaning barrels. Trigger mechanism doesnt need it."

Charlie Frear of Georgia Airguns. He is an expert with tuning and servicing Kalibrguns. I'm satisfied with his reseal service of my regulator when it went bad. The gun came back shooting better than brand new, I'm not exaggerating.

Looking through the manual for the Taipan Veteran, it says to wipe the gun with gun oil and keep moving parts well lubricated. What brand of gun oil and lubrication do you guys recommend? Also, does the trigger groups needs to be lubricated as well?

Seems like the cocking issue is rather common but good that you got the trigger fixed as well. Sorry to hear about your gun leaking, it's always frustrating with problems on a brand new gun.

It is my favorite gun right now. Laser accurate, shoots all the jsb varieties ( including FX and AA) 18 grain and jsb 20.83 monster lights very very well, smooth cocking, and awesome trigger. I can't think of a better gun at it's price point. I'm a Taipan believer now.

Where in the manual that says don't adjust the corresponding screws? I got the same not cocking with my new Taipan Tac as well. I did however, adjust the sear tension and the second stage trigger tension by rotating the screw clockwise. The cocking problem has thus far went away.

I did the sound test without a pellet, just cock and dry fire. I would think shooting with an ammo might quiet it down a bit.
