    BANG went my Daisy 747

Not exactly sure how it worked... Your idea of it happening between the valve and the pellet makes sense, though. Sure did wreck havoc...

    BANG went my Daisy 747

Howdy again... The pistol dieseled when I pulled the trigger. Only twice in 18 years though. The second time was the BAD one. And yup, I did keep the pump arm well adjusted. :)

    BANG went my Daisy 747

My Daisy 747 had only dieseled once before since I bought it in January of 2003... probably in the first year. It sounded more like .22 short than an air pistol, but nothing happened. A month or so ago, it did it again. THIS time with more serious consequences. There was a loud BANG...

New grips on my Daisy 747

I bought my 747 in January of 2003. Nice gun, very accurate, very happy with it, but I've always considered it about as pretty as a post hole digger. After years of wanting wooden grips for it, I finally ran across a nice pair on ebay. Very happy with my new grips, too! The surprising thing...

    Choked barrel?

I'd have to say a choked barrel has a potential advantage in accuracy by making sure that the pellet is well engaged all the way around. However, how accurately the barrel is crowned would be more important. Marty
