    N/A Lightened Piston

A notably lighter piston can sometimes cause piston bounce when reducing power. And bounce will make a gun more hold sensitive than absolutely anything else. Lightened pistons are great, but you need to be ready to do transfer port work and play with different springs to see the most...

HW/Weihrauch The new HW95n seems dry?

If you like the gun, check it for accuracy and then tear it down and lube it correctly. It will shoot better and last damn near forever. I wouldn't own one without tearing it down. But I don't need a warranty, so if that's important to you then being hesitant is understandable. Far as...

    Beeman Beeman R10 date?

My best estimate from searching the serial number database, is that it's a 1987 model.

    FX FX Airgun or NOT

If you like working on your guns, and chasing problems, and "tuning" them to shoot right, you'll love an FX. To me, they are worth nowhere near $2000 compared to other guns, especially considering you don't even get a real barrel and the cheesiest trigger. There are many other high end guns...

American Air Arms Low powered Evol Mini tune

Feinwerkbau, Anschutz, Hammerli, Steyr and others that have built and continue to build gold medal winning rifles might not agree with you there. And neither would the airgun fans or manufacturers in the UK, Germany and other power restricted countries. And neither would I, but I'm just a...

Solved! Large FX Impact POI Shift Issues (Impact from Hell)

Sounds about right for an Impact to me. Unload that hunk to someone else drunk on the swedish kool-aid and get something that works.

I kinda suspected I wasn't the first to find it.

Video tour of an airgun factory:

I came across this on YouTube and thought I was interesting. I'm not sure on the manufacturer, but I believe it's FX Airguns. 👀

    N/A Working on springers

I don't use the tar either, but it's intended purpose is to break the buzz between the spring and inside of the piston. Proper fitting parts, particularly a top hat, and a piston sleeve (my preference) make for a quiet gun without anything. The clear tar I mentioned is a totally different...

    N/A Working on springers

The most important things in a springer: Getting the sealing right (piston seal fit and breech seal) Proper fitting spring guides Proper lubes applied in the proper amount. Less is best here. Get all of those right the first time and it will shoot very good for a very long time. Most...

Resources simple, lightweight, easily moveable target for = creating dope

I just use a cardboard box with a brick in it, with a string tied to it. Start at about 60 yards, shoot, then pull the target towards you with the string using a rangefinder to check your progress. I'm lazy and dumb but it works for me.

N/A HW100 KT replaced the oem tube .

They do not have thread locker on them from the factory. The end caps are very tight and easy to damage though.

    The 177 HW77K First Hunt

You need a "magazine tube" sling mount to fit the cocking lever. I like the GrovTec ones because the Uncle Mike's have sucked since they went to the Chinamen. Pick the one towards the large end of the range in which they fit. Degrease the lever and put a couple drops of LocTite on it before...

    The 177 HW77K First Hunt

Looks like a great day in the woods! Nice rig, those are my favorite guns. I find that vital body shots work darn well in .177, and Im running a lot softer tune than you. Have fun

    HW/Weihrauch HW77 25mm piston vs. 26mm question

The early MK1s werent even inletted for the anti-beartrap. You can check the stock to see if you're curious. I bet it was just removed. If so, they should have left the little silver spacer under the threaded receiver post that the forward trigger guard screw threads into. I always remove the...

    HW/Weihrauch HW77 25mm piston vs. 26mm question

Here's an old article from a British magazine. The gun they test the best I can distinguish is a MK1. *Click the link at the bottom for the whole thing* Note that 855fps with a 7.9gr pellet is about 12.8 ft/bs.
