Louisiana Deer Season Opener for 2024-2025 in the Morning - Zone 2

Crossbows are for hunting vitals. If you can't hit your target with your gun you won't hit it with a crossbow either. Only advantage of a crossbow is large holes and lots of blood. If you prefer head and neck shots then they are not the tool you need for the job. If you are shooting good...

Airforce is the Airforce texan ss in 357 suitable for deer hunting?

From everything I've read about airguns vs deer you might be better off with a crossbow. The vitals are a large target and it's easy to track a deer that has a 2+ inch hole cut through the side of it. I have a .72 zeus and I'm getting cold feet wanting to take a deer with it now. I've read too...

Louisiana Deer Season Opener for 2024-2025 in the Morning - Zone 2

In the heat of the moment anything can happen. A 20 yard chip shot can be a lost deer. Thermal is a great way to find your deer. My dad shot a buck last season and when I asked his where it was he didn't know. I pulled out my thermal and it was laying 50 yards away dead. I know this is a...

What is better than my Texan .257 or FX M3 .25 cal for 300 yards and beyond?

Yes they are sub moa to 100 yards in my 257. I haven't pushed them further yet. The AVS 85 grain 0.2573 hpbt is also very accurate.

American Air Arms, RAW, RTI and every other brand that doesn’t have disassembly videos GET WITH THE TIMES!

AAA provides schematics of their rifles on their website. I do agree though. I'm not new to airguns, but I'm new to doing the maintenance myself and a video would be nice for the people that don't know what they are doing. AAA has a couple videos, but I don't remember if they were on the site or...

    Airforce Texan lss .457

I'm pretty sure the regular texan is the same as the lss just with a moderator. When you remove the lss moderator you now have a standard texan. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Need advice on a purchase…..sending $ but afraid

If the guy isn't a well known active member, and you obviously are not comfortable with the situation, then don't be a fool and play it safe.

AEA Zeus .72 ready for deer season

I usually only hunt archery, but I thought I would put together a deer gun in case I wanted to switch it up. I thought I would share my thoughts, a few pictures, and some numbers. I normally hunt thick areas and don't have many shot opportunities longer than 40 yards, so I went to 35 yards and...

    The Art of Glassing

I take my thermal monocular with me and use it to see if I'm missing anything. Thermal really has spoiled me. Nice write up.

Any QD option that hold zero?

If you are not running a large/heavy scope you most likely won't feel the extra weight from using a proper high quality mount. American defense manufacturing, zro delta, larue, spuhr, and scalarworks are a few of the higher end mount. Scalarworks is probably the lightest. You can run a burris...

Any QD option that hold zero?

American defense manufacturing qd mounts is another 1 to consider.

    New interest in airguns.

Pyramydair.com has the m4 in .25 cal 600mm version 1 left in stock if that's what you are wanting. And they also have 1 m4 700mm in .30 in stock. They also have skout in .177 and .30 in stock if those intertest you. I'm assuming the skout trigger will be better considering it's electronic. I'm...

New Altaros Slugs ATP King cal .257 84gr

Yes, a maxed out stock 257 texan should be able to send these over 1000 fps. They held up at 990 well so I'm assuming 1000+ should work. I'm not a slug expert, but I thought I read you want to stay under 1050fps. I also read that the faster the slug is moving the less wind resistance it has to...
