Thank you, it's hard to find PVC of that diameter. Lowe's, and home Depot do not carry it. I have to get creative, and maybe build a cage from wood.

What are the dimensions of your PVC pipe? I may do the same thing to protect my cylinder.

I ended up using silicone grease, the kkind I use on water filter o rings. Pure silicone grease just a small amount after I cleaned the threads really well.

I put the valve on, I aired up to over 3k psi, and no issues, thank you all! 

I was able to get a carbon fiber 4500 psi tank. The Valve has been removed to Inspect. How do you torque your Valves back on? I'd like to set it at 75 ft lbs. It is an isi tank.

The SCBA will have the standard cga347 threads. I was hoping that there was some kind of adapter that could connect that fill whip I was looking at to the scuba tank. The scuba is a yolk valve That fill valve with two connections does look pretty nice.
