Unfortunately reviewers on Amazon say that the Hawke 2-7 scopes are not suitable for that mount.

The screws are secure.

The mounts did not appear to shift when yanked hard. The screws are locked down. There is no sign on the surrounding metal that the rail is shifting.

I don’t know what the issue is. I’ve considered replacing the spring but haven’t done anything yet but the breech seal.

@Bear-of-Grayling The one I used today was a gem. The low shots were my first four with that rifle and trigger. The next 16 are that big hole. 15 yards.
