SPA P35 clipping baffles and moderator

Hey Mike, Good info. Thanks. I'll try foam around the barrel. I'd imagine that lining the shroud with foam (or felt) would work better than just a printed insert or baffles. The Huma moderators actually have small metal haircurlers in them (wrapped in some heavy felt), so that does work too.

Any idea where I could find those (to recycle as a base for the full shroud design I have in mind). Recycling parts is easier than 3D-designing from scratch.

Looks nice. But there isn't much of a point if the moderator is the same width as the shroud if it's not directly attached to the barrel. As you're using the hair curler mod in the shroud, you're using a muffling typr silencing instead of just the original baffles. The idea then is to replace...

Are those only replacing the baffles, or do you have 3D printed baffling fill the back end of the shroud around the barrel too? I was thinking of doing the entire shroud front to end, although I'm not sure it's a good idea as it would surely restrict the internal size of the back end. I did...

I got my P35 back since end of november, but could only test it yesterday. The whole process almost took 12 weeks. That was long. The P35 now shoots 1 inch groups at 40 y with JSB Heavy. I'll need to practice. Although the tech indicated the muzzle end/crown was indeed rough, it wasn't causing...

They've asked to ship them the gun as they want to check it out. I'm happy a technician wants to have a look at it. We'll see what he says.

I've had the gun since 3 months and it took a while already to understand there was something up with it. As it wasn't fun shooting it, I had put it aside mostly (so downtinme or shipping is no issue). Coming here, and asking you guys, eventually sped up the process to come to a conclusion...

So is that deformed rifling the cause for the cause to spew lead debris, clipping the baffles and moderator now and then, and not shooting very accurate? Any other options than returning it, or cutting/rethreading the barrel? Are there other, perhaps better barrels available? or would that be a...

I'm kind of new at all this, so yeah, all help is appreciated while I try to figure this out. Thanks. I made some pics. Hope they're clear enough. If other angles are needed, then the tape is there for reference.

So I took the barrel out of the P35. It looks straight. The inside ring that holds the pellet does look damaged somewhat (see pic). No burrs to spot and looks smooth. When pushing several pellets through the barrel, they do not pass uniformely smooth, as there are places in the barrel the...

Before I start to remove the barrel, do I need to discharge the air from the pressure chamber, or is that not relevant? Last thing I 'd want is to have a sudden release of 200 Bar somewhere. Thanks.

Good ideas. I'll see if I can dissamble the barrel tomorrow (it's already evening where I'm at) to roll it and push through a pellet. Thanks for the ideas.

Hey JimD, tnx for the reply. Yes, the alu piece is in place with the ring. It feels tight when disassembling the shroud. Even without baffles, there seems to be too much lead debris ending up in the moderator. I tried putting plastice hair curler mods in the shroud but got ripped to pieces...

I don't mind the tinkering though, but I can't machine parts myself. Is a bad crown recognisable on sight? Or isn't it that obvious? I'd rather look at this before already removing the barrel.

I got this P35 in a .22, and I’m having trouble with it. The gun was bought for pest control at 20 to 40 yards. I guess something’s up with the barrel as I’ve read up on SPA’s barrel lottery a bit, but I’d love a diagnosis from someone knowledgeable as this is my first PCP (after lots of break...
