Watch out, possibly illegal, doves are migratory birds with a bit different rules, could be shotgun only. Don't want you to get into legal troubles. You might want to investigate. Great shooting anyway, congratulations. Dove wrapped with bacon grilled over charcoal are yummy.

A lot of rifles don't handle slugs well.

There's something wrong about that photo:

It's easy to separate the front and rear action halves so don't submerge the rear block with the hammer, indexing mechanism, etc. Just the front block and reservoir tube.
