FX Impact M3 velocity drops 100 fps after sitting over night then takes 20 shots before it returns back to 990fps. Reg pressure unchanged during process.

Very good to know. Thank you globalstar66. That makes me feel better about their non-response so far.

FX Impact M3 velocity drops 100 fps after sitting over night then takes 20 shots before it returns back to 990fps. Reg pressure unchanged during process.

My M3 is back to shooting well again. No slow first shot after sitting overnight. Very consistent with each shot +/- 3 fps. The fixes: 1. I disassembled the gun down to the plenum and there was o-ring residue on the valve rod. This means that the o-ring was extruding and rubbing on the valve...

He left the site. But you can contact him on eBay where he has a storefront. His uprgraded o-ring and peek washer are listed for sale. I'm waiting to hear back from him about his carbide coated valve rods, which I don't see listed. Here is his Storefront: https://www.ebay.com/usr/mudpro1

Good call. This is consistent with my experience trying to resolve this issue for several months. Whatever can be done to reduce friction WITHOUT SILICONE OIL will be a much longer term solution.

FX Impact M3 velocity drops 100 fps after sitting over night then takes 20 shots before it returns back to 990fps. Reg pressure unchanged during process.

Thank you for this info and a possible connection to someone who can make parts to fix this. That ultra low friction rod sounds like it could be another important piece to solving this problem, especially in terms of finding a long term solution. Every time I think I have this problem solved, it...

FX Impact M3 velocity drops 100 fps after sitting over night then takes 20 shots before it returns back to 990fps. Reg pressure unchanged during process.

I really hope it comes out soon. This problem makes hunting very difficult if you need to wait 30+ minutes before taking long distance shots at game. I'm still getting a 50fps drop in velocity for the first shot after waiting just 30 minutes! And it takes 5 dry fire shots to get it shooting back...

FX I haven’t shot my FX Impact M3 in 6 months. Is there anything I should do to the gun before I start shooting again?

The gun has been stored in a case in a cool, dry closet. It has been stored with tank pressure is 210 bar. The 1st reg was set to 200 bar and the gauge reads 200bar. The 2nd reg was set to 150 bar and the gauge reads 155 bar, so it has crept 5 bar during the 6 months of storage.

FX Same Strange Problem With 2 Different FX Impact M3 1st Stage Regulators

First I'd try contacting the retailer that you purchased the gun from and ask if they can get you the brass piston that's compatible with the 1st reg: Part 20858. But that may not fix the creep. If you're unable to get the correct piston, then I would order the 1st reg made by Huma Air. That's...

FX What to do after shooting an Impact that was filled with moist air? Disassembly, drying, o-ring replacement, etc.

Thanks bozman! Good to know. Here is an update to the situation: It looks like the moisture I was noticing was from water that had accumulated in the fill hose from my 100cc Portable Air Venturi Tank. This is how it happened: I usually have the tank sitting up on a workbench, while the...

FX Installed a Huma 1st Stage Reg on Impact M3, now it won't degass. Any Ideas?

Thank you for the detailed explanation. Really helped me to understand what's going on in the reg.

FX Installed a Huma 1st Stage Reg on Impact M3, now it won't degass. Any Ideas?

This worked perfectly. Even at 150 bar, the 2nd stage reg gauge unscrewed 1/8th of a turn with ease and the air drained. I checked the X-ring after the gun emptied and it was in perfect shape. The gun refilled as normal and there was no leak from the 2nd reg gauge. Thanks for the tip Deadlands!

FX Installed a Huma 1st Stage Reg on Impact M3, now it won't degass. Any Ideas?

UPDATE: To degas the system when you have a Huma 2nd reg there are 2 options: 1. dry fire till the plenum is empty. Sometimes it will start draining after 2-5 shots, other times you will need to dry fire until the system is empty. 2. You can very slowly unscrew the 2nd stage reg gauge until the...

FX Same Strange Problem With 2 Different FX Impact M3 1st Stage Regulators

UPDATE: FX got back to me about this issue. Their response: "Honestly not sure why the regulators are giving you that many problems, even after rebuilding. The 1st regulator stack should be "(( )) (( )) (( ))" with 12 washers. 19696-M (original brass piston) is not compatible with the 1st...

FX Same Strange Problem With 2 Different FX Impact M3 1st Stage Regulators

I'll try changing the stack orientation to see if that makes a difference. This guy is someone I came across who made a comment about using 3 stacks of 4 washers. For me both regs came this way already. Not sure why.
