To be fair, DonnyFL did address my problem and provided a solution. I'm thankful that they had the part in stock and I didn't have to wait on a slow boat from China. I'm a happy customer at this point. Thank you to those who commented and helped. I really appreciate you folks.

You were correct about the nuts on the underside. I removed the gauge and the reason for the malfunction was immediately clear. It doesn't show up in the picture, but the metal housing is bent, preventing the internals from seating properly.

Bit the bullet and ordered a Big Foot air compressor from DannyFL yesterday. It shipped today and I'll have it a week from today. I plan to use that to air up a large scuba tank, which will air up my RAW HM1000XLRT....which should be here early next week. This is a spendy hobby to get started...
