Resources AA HFT500 Good for Benchrest? - OK, prove it!

Flustrating isn't it? strech it out to centerfire at 1000+ yards. Heck even the short line can drive you nutz

Resources AA HFT500 Good for Benchrest? - OK, prove it!

Air gun pellets, and likely slugs also are going to vary in consistency not only the physical aspect but also the material aspect, just like .22 long rifle. Every so often you might find the Holy Grail for your particular unit. At least Pellets do not cost a dollar a shot, and a full sleeve...

Hunters Supply Powder Coated Cast Lead Bullets

i haven't any personal experience with them but guys using them say it cuts way down on the amount fouling vs a lubbed slug. There are a bunch of articles about powder coated bullets in general not just a particular brand.

Choked Huh? on that last shot. Other reasons wind , mirage, light change, the list is never ending. Great target. Still using my Annie 2025 or Walther kkm from that same time period. Looks like that rest is physically attached to the gun , rules say no to that in regulation ABR unless...

It does open up certain aspects that were not considered by most anti's.

Airgun deer hunting in WI is legal as of 03-15-24

Pretty sure you are wrong there as to the past in air guns ( even though it has been going on for eons), Air bows never were legal and are not covered under air guns either that I saw any mention of, & you can bet your sweet bippy that the bow hunting organizations will crying foul again on...

Airgun deer hunting in WI is legal as of 03-15-24

For Deer, likely will wash out at 45cal and up, with an air unit you do not have the hydro shock factor of a pb unit. Ya I know you can collect a deer with a 22LR , generally that has to be a head shot. ( not legally though in WI has to be center fire and even there I believe the .22 cals and...

    N/A Longer barrel a negative ?

for every action there is an opposite action of equal magnatude. at 25 grains/980fps or so of mass vs 6-8lbs of rifle mass sitting the reactive force trying to move the large mass is absorbed. double the velocity and you have more reactive energy and it will move that mass.

    N/A Airgun Air tube Maintenance?

Except than the oem may have used something along the lines of locktight on the end cap threads.

    My 2 cents

Alkin or Bauer. Both long time players in the field. The go to companies for breathing air in semi portable units.

    Skout Borescope!

that is not lead , there are imperfection on the lands as well. maybe it is the coating- still not good in my book. i have been looking at barrels for a very long time. you can clearly see lead scrapings in the cavities at the base of the land and grove junction.

    Skout Borescope!

I believe that area of your barrel has an occlusion of some type . The cutter skipped / chattered it's way past that point. The softer material was torn away from the harder material. That is not what a barrel should look like coating or no coating. I have had centerfire rifle barrels...

Machining Plastics - How to Make a Poppet, Regulator Piston Seat, etc

machine tools+ tooling, another of the slippery slopes that drains wallets, actually for plasrics HSS works better than carbide inserts. Carbide is great for reall hard or abrasive stuff and high speed removal, but high speed on plastics is a problem unless you are dumping a lot of coolant on...

    How do I get started?

first thing to do is down load a set of NRL rules and read them. sure you could set up a course and practice at home. you have the basics already.

RWS Any reason a barrel can’t be drilled & lined from .177 or .22 to .25?

frankly the cost would equal or exceed the price of a new barrel. Our barrels are very small diameter wise for the most part as they do not need to contain pressures in the 30-60 thousand psi range unlike powder burners. I won't get into all the details as it does get complicated
