    Tuning BSF 55 disassembly help

I have a BSF model 55 I am trying to to strip and it has a scope/sight rail that is attached to the receiver tube with one screw and then I understand it's slotted into the receiver on the back end. I am not sure if the rail needs to be tapped to the front or rear of the receiver to get it off...

Small + QUIET to kill rats at close range ?*?

Maybe you can seal off the room and flood it with CO2 gas or something. That sounds like it's way beyond air rifle work.

What springer did you shoot today?

Dusted off the Marksman Model 70 yesterday, shooting very smooth at 10.8 ftlb. May do a rebuild on it with a new spring and seals as it should be shooting a bit harder than 10.8. Easy hitting cans at 40 yards with open sights despite the lower power, very nice gun I don't shoot enough.

N/A A question for our British members, and locals too

With the Stratons the accuracy is very good, was getting 1/2" groups at 30 yards but most other pellets didn't work well. This is my first time finding these pellets as the preferred pellet in any of my 40 springers.

N/A A question for our British members, and locals too

I have a Turkbow so definitely not the same gun as yours but it shoots the jsb Stratons the best by far and those fit the best.

    N/A Traditional Airgun hunting

Take a look at the Cometa USC in .22 at Keystone airguns, that would make a great hunting springer.

Hatsan Opinions on buying a cheap Hatsan springer and modifying it vs buying higher end Hatsan.

The price on those refurb Hatsan rifles is pretty low, especially the Air Tact and the Zada, those are a real cheap way to get i to airgunning for sure.

Hatsan Opinions on buying a cheap Hatsan springer and modifying it vs buying higher end Hatsan.

My experience with Hatsan guns is isolated to a 95 as well as a couple of the hatsan versions of the Webley Tomahawk and Longbow. The 95 (gas ram) and the Tomahawks have been decent guns and my Longbow after a lot of work is a very nice shooting gun. The barrels really are the weak link, but...

Those can make fun tuning projects and can shoot well when gone through.

    Other A Little Webley

I have seen those Stingray II available a few times lately pretty cheap and debated getting one as I assumed they would be q decent project gun. I will have to get a longer replacement screw and see if that helps. Going to also do a bit of polishing where needed. I did some pellet testing...

    Other A Little Webley

I haven't done much at all to the trigger, I could do some polishing and replace one adjustment screw and spring. This gun has one of the stock bolts left hand threads! A real mish mash, the barrel is hatsan but it's a good barrel. The piston etc is Webley but the trigger is this lower grade...

    Other A Little Webley

Here's a Turkbow I picked up a month or so ago. Appears to be the last of the Turkish Longbow with the crappy stingray II trigger. Firing cycle was terrible, Mike E. Made me a set of new guides and machined the piston to have a proper seal that worked. Then had to get a decent breech seal...

    N/A RWS Diana 54 Purchase

You will need a scope specifically rated for a spring air rifle. If not it won't last long.

Does anyone have one of these or have ever shot one?

That really sounds like you may need to do a total strip and see what's going on inside.

Does anyone have one of these or have ever shot one?

Maybe the safety mechanism is not in correctly? Did you change out any parts?! I rebuilt my Mistral a few years ago and changed out the seal and seems I used a strip guide someone had online which helped. I may still have it as a PDF file will look around. Has to be something in the trigger...

Diana RWS model 36 manufactured 1987.

My.177 Diana 36 is a smooth shooting rifle with a vortek kit in it. The sights on these Diana's are really hard to come by if you misplace or lose them. You can find the rear sights but the front globe sight is tough to find nowadays for any of the older Diana's.

    N/A Working on springers

You can make a dirt cheap spring compressor with a "C" clamp from Harbor freight cut off and mounted on a board or bench. I just clamp blocks on mine depending on where the end of the receiver tube fits and works great.

    Shooting pellets tail first?

Those old Lamprey pellets were basically a backwards pellet as I recall.

    N/A Cometa break barrels

Yes, one of the Cometas 400 series will be a good replacement for that Diana.. I have a 400 USC premier with a spring in .22 and its a great gun..
