    Air Venturi Avenge-X/PCP newbie concerns

Well gentlemen, I think I just completed my first successful tune. 1800psi reg, 177 13.43gr, ~863 fps. Max velocity at that reg was around 900 so using the 5-7% rule I aimed for 864. This is pretty fun! Now to see how it groups because I did this tuning indoors shooting 2 feet away at ballistics...

    Air Venturi Avenge-X/PCP newbie concerns

I just tested that out and it didn’t seem like the velocity really changed. However, I also tried shooting the 13.43 monsters at 1500 psi and it jumped down to 830. These might be the way to go for this gun

    Air Venturi Avenge-X/PCP newbie concerns

Sounds good. At least I have a few options to try! I have an unopened tin of 13.64gr so it's about time to bust those open.

    Air Venturi Avenge-X/PCP newbie concerns

I have an unopened tin of those 13.43gr pellet but haven't tried them yet, figured the 10.34gr was the optimal weight. I will definitely try them out. I'm also not beholden to getting the velocity below 900 fps but I've heard that anything above 900 results in inaccuracy so was just trying to...

    Air Venturi Avenge-X/PCP newbie concerns

Will definitely try this, and thanks for the insight on the fill port cap. And yes I saw that they updated it to the end of March! That's an insane delay but hopefully they are just being conservative.

    Air Venturi Avenge-X/PCP newbie concerns

Yea that makes sense, especially with the avenge-x being able to barrel swap all the way up to 25. Due to shipping restrictions in IL I had to get a 177 and get the 22 barrel kit separate but it's been out of stock. Just need to stick with the 177 for now and figure out a good tune. I was...

    Air Venturi Avenge-X/PCP newbie concerns

@weevil @Vetmx Ok maybe I’m going crazy but now that I’m reading into this more it seems like the rule of thumb for pcp tuning is increasing reg pressure increases velocity. If a fully backed out hammer spring at 1500psi reg pressure is still resulting in too high of a velocity, and I can’t...

Sorry, I understand what you’re saying now - leave the hammer spring all the way out and increase the reg to reduce velocity. Got it

    Air Venturi Avenge-X/PCP newbie concerns

That’s true, but is it odd that I can’t get the velocity below 900 for 177 using just the reg and hammer? It seems like most people try to keep velocity around that

    Air Venturi Avenge-X/PCP newbie concerns

I don’t plan on increasing the reg, I figured I would just keep it at 1500 because that’s the lowest it will go. If I increase the reg the velocity will go up no matter what right?

    Air Venturi Avenge-X/PCP newbie concerns

PCP newbie here. I had some concerns regarding my new Avenge-X that might also be basic PCP questions: 1) The lowest pressure I can get on the regulator is 1500 psi. And yes, I degassed before lowering the regulator... I tightened the reg screw all the way before filling, but the reg still...

Barrels Avenge x 177 cal change kit for 22 kit

Hi all - I'm looking to trade my Avenge x 177 cal kit (barrel, probe, mags) for a 22 cal kit. The 22 cal kit has been out of stock as long as it's been available and I'm looking to up the caliber of my avenge x. My 177 barrel only has about 40 rounds through it. Thanks!

    Filter question

Hi all - I just bought a new RovAir and realized I’ve been using it with the hose flipped this whole time. Rather than the end with the filter being connected to the compressor, I’ve been connecting it to the gun. Can this lead to any issues? Possibly water in the hose?

    Pyramid Air - Avenge-X

I had a similar experience with PA but ended up cancelling my preorder and ordering just the gun from PA anyways. However my issue is I had to get the 177 version because of IL shipping restrictions, and the 22 cal change kit has been out of stock everywhere

Hey @Tpatner412, any update on when the caliber change kits will be available next? Thanks!

    Air Venturi Avenge-x rollout delayed

Does the stock on the tactical version seem a little wobbly to anybody else? Not the buffer tube but the stock itself.

    Air Venturi Avenge-x rollout delayed

That's sweet! Mine was delivered on Saturday while I was on vacation (neighbor was able to put it in my garage) and I just got back today so I haven't been able to shoot yet. Hard to believe it's finally here. I'm impressed by the build quality and weight. The most I did was attach a magpul...

    Air Venturi Avenge-x rollout delayed

@namo81 just checked mine, nothing changed yet I noticed the tactical model was showing in stock with 2 left. Placed a separate order on the spot for delivery next Tuesday. Going to remove the rifle from my preorder but keep the caliber change kit on there. Unfortunately the 22 caliber change...

    Air Venturi Avenge-x rollout delayed

Nope, they've just been silently pushing the date back. This is also my first pre order and it's been a bad one. They originally said it would be in stock August 24th. Now the date is 4 months after that. They must have manufactured 50 guns and called it a day :ROFLMAO:
