Fx impact m3 single shot loader

Manuloader looks pretty sweet! I love that idea. Not nearly as slick but this is the single shot loader I've been working on. I've been meaning to machine an aluminum version but the 3d printed version has been working well enough that I keep putting it off. Its for 25 cal but could be easily...

The DIY RCBS Rebel/GMI swagging kit

CAD files here for anyone wanting to tackle it on their own. I'll do a more thorough write-up here shortly. From a DIY perspective I wouldn't recommend making the ram or knuckle from scratch. But rather I would use the attached CAD files to give you the necessarily measurements to appropriately...

The DIY RCBS Rebel/GMI swagging kit

I actually did the diy conversion originally on the RC press. After talking with the guys on one of the other threads decided to try it again with the Rebel press. The Rebel press is definitely beefier and ended up being a better fit for the swaging. The RC press definitely worked but I feel...

The DIY RCBS Rebel/GMI swagging kit

I had the same gap in the DIY modified knuckle. I ended up just 3d printing some nylon washers. I don't think 3d printing washers is normally advisable but in this case they aren't acting so much like washers as they are spacers. Stack of washers would likely work just as well maybe even better...

Yeah anodizing titanium is a very different thing from anodizing aluminum. It’s actually an oxidation process. The depth of the oxidation determines the color. It can be done through heat as I did here or through a chemical electric process. And yes it is conventionally called titanium anodizing.

Other Let's see your custom airgun parts

For much of my life I've been of the belief that custom parts are silly. More expensive and often without any functional advantage. But in recent I've done a total 180 on that belief. I see the art in custom work. Maybe some have no functional advantage but looking cool is enough sometimes. ;)...

Finally made a swaging die that doesn't stink...very much

I have a cnc mill. When you have a hammer everything looks like a nail...same thing applies with a cnc mill. Everything seems like a cnc mill project :ROFLMAO:

Finally made a swaging die that doesn't stink...very much

Cool I'm going to look into the moly coating Yes happy to share my heat treat numbers. Like I said I use A2 Steel. Since I have a heat treat oven I have the luxury of fairly precise heat treat temperatures. I let my dies soak at 1750f for at least 15 minutes. I foil wrap (in 309 foil stainless...

Finally made a swaging die that doesn't stink...very much

Yeah hardening myself. I'm a parttime knifemaker so luckily I've already got the setup and background for hardening. I'm using A2 steel and I fully harden it to 60+ hrc and then temper WAY back to 50. I do my final machining hard. Leaves a really nice finish. That's a great idea. Make a...

Finally made a swaging die that doesn't stink...very much

Turns out die making is hard! who would have thought. I think I finally have a die that makes half decent slugs. Definitely not going to give any of the really slugs out there a run for their money but a big win for me. I can get about a 1.5" group at 50yrds with my airarms Krait. Baby steps...

Need help figuring out what hand pump is needed for PCP Airguns. New to this.

That's a good point. Its worth knowing filling up a gun with a hand pump can be a bit of a workout. I kept both my sons and my gun in my workout area and would fill them both up with each workout. At the time my son didn't weigh enough to even fill his up. :ROFLMAO:

Need help figuring out what hand pump is needed for PCP Airguns. New to this.

Most all PCP airguns use a 8mm quick connect fitting. Most all pumps are the same.

    Garmin Xero C1 Pro!

    Building my own Swaging Press

As long as we are using a custom die set that absolutely works. I'm hoping to make this work with standard corbin, GMI etc die sets. Typically they come with their own extractor pins don't they? Seems like they would have to. the tolerances between the die and the pin are very tight.

    Building my own Swaging Press

Yes, exactly. Hopefully that will just be a matter of using some spacers in the bore if the extractor pin is too short. If it’s too long…umm ya I don’t know. Maybe a threaded spacer for the top of the ram?
