I've had pretty good experience with 300 gr small hollow point flat base .510 slugs from proslugs.com. But it seems they don't make them in .50.

My understanding AEA big bores don't share design pitfalls with their other, more popular models.

AEA .510 kicks 300 grain slugs at 950 FPS. It has assembly/QC/shipping problems, which you have to fix prior to using the gun, but otherwise it's not bad. Mine didn't break yet, after initial conditioning, of course. I get 2" groups at 100 yards, which is good for the purpose (deer).

It's ageing.

I haven't filled up my 4500 PSI rated AEA bottle to the full pressure even once. I'm scared. Don't see how the same part can be rated for 3600 PSI max in other guns and for 4500 in mine.

My first Notos was defective, too (barrel moving in receiver). I'd say, it is about AEA quality.

I have an electric pump, cost me almost $500 if I remember correctly. I bought it first, then the hand pump. I'm stalking in the woods and want to be able to replenish "powder" on the go, far away from my truck. With my hand pump and my big bore air gun this is not something really possible...

Compressing air 1 to 344 is no joke. When I run my electric pump in the wild from the second battery I get bored on like fifth fill and start the engine. It does draw some power, group 27 battery can't handle it for long.
