Mediocre guns...we have all bought 1 or 2

Mediocre gun that you bought and then had to fix makes some great content in this forum. Everyone, keep buying mediocre guns!

    N/A Notos or pp750

My Notos came defective and had to be replaced. I don't like it's left hand lever, plus open sights can only be used in pistol configuration. I got it for chipmunks control, who destroy my backyard, but it proved to be less efficient than a big bore AEA that I discharge without slug right into...

    AEA Insane pump-action PCP

I've had pretty good experience with 300 gr small hollow point flat base .510 slugs from proslugs.com. But it seems they don't make them in .50.

N/A What is the best big Bore .50cal PCP?

My understanding AEA big bores don't share design pitfalls with their other, more popular models.

N/A What is the best big Bore .50cal PCP?

AEA .510 kicks 300 grain slugs at 950 FPS. It has assembly/QC/shipping problems, which you have to fix prior to using the gun, but otherwise it's not bad. Mine didn't break yet, after initial conditioning, of course. I get 2" groups at 100 yards, which is good for the purpose (deer).

N/A No more interest in PCPs

    It's ageing.

AEA AEA "Sonic" 7000 psi ready bullpup platform

I haven't filled up my 4500 PSI rated AEA bottle to the full pressure even once. I'm scared. Don't see how the same part can be rated for 3600 PSI max in other guns and for 4500 in mine.

    Umarex Notos conundrum.

My first Notos was defective, too (barrel moving in receiver). I'd say, it is about AEA quality.

N/A Why PCP airguns are so expensive?

I have a Centerpoint Sniper for 4 years. Using it year round, including in freezing temps. Only replaced a string once. Not sure what can break there besides the limbs, it is a very sturdy and simple design. It's not pushing power over the roof, but is very accurate up to 70 yards and still does...

N/A Why PCP airguns are so expensive?

True. But again, to some extent. Look at the shot string of my unregulated AEA before I fixed it: https://www.airgunnation.com/threads/shot-my-510-challenger-bullpup.1297761/#post-1575731 I don't have a similar picture of 10/22 Takedown, which is less precise than a regular one, but out of the...

N/A Why PCP airguns are so expensive?

What's your pump model? Maybe I just go ahead and buy it. 200+ lbs me standing on my GX H-4 does not fill my gun past ~3000 PSI, that's it.

N/A Why PCP airguns are so expensive?

I thought about it, but scuba bottles are expensive. Also, for plinking it does not matter - I have an air fill station in the back of my truck. And when I have my Notos back I won't have to spend so much time airing it up, like I do with the big bore (6 rounds then wait 15 minutes). For...

N/A Why PCP airguns are so expensive?

I have an electric pump, cost me almost $500 if I remember correctly. I bought it first, then the hand pump. I'm stalking in the woods and want to be able to replenish "powder" on the go, far away from my truck. With my hand pump and my big bore air gun this is not something really possible...

N/A Why PCP airguns are so expensive?

Compressing air 1 to 344 is no joke. When I run my electric pump in the wild from the second battery I get bored on like fifth fill and start the engine. It does draw some power, group 27 battery can't handle it for long.

N/A Why PCP airguns are so expensive?

GX H-4. Is it Chinese PSI? That would translate to 3000 American PSI, which I'm able to pump, too ;)

N/A Why PCP airguns are so expensive?

    No, it's AEA Challenger .510, 500 cc @ 5000 PSI

N/A Why PCP airguns are so expensive?

Conventional firearms are no different in that process. Thus the question. Umarex is not a boutique shop either. They list about 1000 employees on their web site. Sturm, Ruger is about 2000. Right now I'm involved in designing a product where software licenses trample on everything else :)

N/A Why PCP airguns are so expensive?

It goes to only about 3000 PSI, out of 5000, then the pump does not accept my weight.

N/A Why PCP airguns are so expensive?

    Sportsman's has 10/22 for $279.99. I paid $260 for Notos.
