FWB FWB P8x vs. Baikal IZH 46M

So I derailed the thread about an FWB 65 with a brief discussion on other target pistols. Thought I'd give this it's own thread. I'm fascinated with the accuracy of the 10 meter pistols (and those that wield them as intended, off-hand), I recently got a great deal on an FWB P8x. Already had the...

What springer did you shoot today?

Had about 45 minutes to spare on a nice day. Took the newly CS stocked .177 HW30 out, and the .177 HW50. The CS stock is significantly heavier (I didn't weigh it), but that helps the HW30 which is very light. Of, course, accuracy didn't change, I did notice that I need to bring the scope back...

    HW/Weihrauch Hw30n

This is such a winning combination. A nice stock on such a wonderful and iconic rifle. When CS announced that they would be making a stock for this rifle, I jumped on it. Have a thumbhole CS stock for a HW95. But, I feel like i missed out...my new stock just arrived and is great, clean lines...

    HW/Weihrauch Custom Stocks UK - HW30!!!!

So here is my CS HW30 stock. A different version than @maxtrouble but similar.Sorry, no beautiful natural light shots, that will come. Much better heft and balance compared to the original. I haven't actually shot it yet, but the extra weight should make it even smooother than butter ;-). Not...

What springer did you shoot today?

I'm sure Burris scopes would work well. I've always wanted a Burris pistol scope. The most popular springer scope, in my experience, are Athlon and Hawke. Both are bullet proof (almost), have great warranty (just in case), and are of high quality. Everybody has different favorites, mine are...

    FWB FWB 65

I probably should start a new thread, but I got my much anticipated FWB P8X, yesterday. The seller said it had maybe 25 pellets through it, it's probably closer to two. Brand new with everything unmolested. I've had two recent Ebay finds that were mind blowing (for me). Anyways, I read the...

Exactly how many is too many

I don't want to just hit "thumbs up", especially since I have a pool table and a wife of 34 years ;-). My pool skills justify a $300 pool cue...even though I'm competitive as hell, for some reason I don't feel the urge to just practice pool to get better. I did take a lesson one time and learned...

Exactly how many is too many

So I'm sure you guys know this. I was/still am a cyclist. And the correct number of bicycles and airguns is the same math. There are two equations: The correct number is: n + 1 where n = the number of your existing number of bicycles. Or, and most importantly, the correct number of air rifles is...

What springer did you shoot today?

The wind was swirling, my near flag often went one direction and the far flag the other. I have new respect for bench shooters in competition.

What springer did you shoot today?

So I shot my FWB 150 off of my new super stable bench. Unfortunately the wind was wicked, so I tried to "read the wind" and used 2 wind flags for the first time. What an experience, I sucked big time but learned a lot. In South Florida, the nicest shooting weather is accompanied by wind. My...

    FWB FWB 65

Thanks for that @rokonman , I will get the P8X Tuesday (missed a delivery attempt Saturday!). I am excited to test it against the Baikal. I do have Rink grips on the IZH 46, just like in your photo. Hopefully the P8X will be worth it...I got a good deal at $1100 delivered. At least I think that...

    30-Yard Challenge

No good scores to report. I did build a new base for my bench, heavy and super stable. No wobble, so I can't use that excuse ;-). Was anxious to try it out but very windy. Shot anyways, but after my first challenge card I decided to make a couple wind flags and see if that helps. My FWB 150 was...

What springer did you shoot today?

Yes, it was the first rifle I worked on. It is really easy to cock and much smoother than prior to the kit. Lost about 1.8 fpe, switched to a lighter pellet. Remarkably accurate.

What springer did you shoot today?

Had some time to shoot my .22's HW35 and Prosport. Both are excellent in every way. Used my new bench (old bench top with a new heavy, stable base).

    Airgun Shooting bench?

Built a nice shooting table with fold under legs from leftovers around the shop. Loved it until I started trying to hit dots at 30yds. Too wobbly. So just completed a new base out of pressure treated pine. 4x4's and 2x6's. Rock solid and heavy. Tenons on the table saw, old school for the...

What springer did you shoot today?

@Windmill01 As a South Floridian, I literally have felt your pain. Multiple hurricanes, the eye of Andrew went over my house. Have had lots of windstorm damage but nothing catastrophic. I wish you the best of luck. But knowing the Aussie mindset, you will probably have a "cyclone" party. I've...

    FWB FWB 65

I really wanted that FWB65 from the classifieds, but I have an IZH 46M and I assumed it would be about the same. I have a true 10 meter pistol on the way, an FWB P8X. I still want an FWB 65..

    HW/Weihrauch HW30 walnut

So I have a newish .177 HW30 from Krale (Christmas sale). Ridiculously inexpensive. I am ridiculously happy with it. I ordered a CS custom stock when they came available about a month ago. We'll see which is better...the end cost is about the same. Probably the CS stock + rifle is a bit more...

Official Thread - Alkin owners - check in!

My Alkin is just over a year old. I have 3:45 on it (one shooter). You guys have no idea how helpful you have been...I think I can wait another year before the "annual" oil change. At least 6 months. It is great to have options. Thank you!
