You pretty much nailed your assessment. With this last round of upgrades, the sights have finally beat out the rifle and Vortek kit in price. We’ve all been saying for last 15 years that the standard for the scope is the price of the rifle.

Welp… I don’t know what’s left to do to this rifle. It’s tuned. Shooting its favorite pellet. It even has Olympic match sights now. Just put on the Anschutz Super Iris in the front sight with a Gehmann bubble level. This should make those 2” plates at 50m easy peasy.

I shoot my HW77 with Vortek HO in the cold a lot. -5C and up. No problems, no loss of power, nothing. I also shoot a factory sprung Diana in the cold and its spring is looking good.

I’m not sure why JSB even bothers marking them at this point. If they’re gauging +/- 0.01mm then any given tin of pellets basically covers half of the range of possible sizes.
