There are a lot of factors to consider for sure. Another thing I forgot to mention when determining what your best pellet is is mean radius. I think that goes along with group shape and dispersion. I do agree that other variables can and must be tweaked.

I have a Brocock Sahara XR that I want to run a thermal clip on with. Is there any aftermarket solutions for rail mounting or would the clip on need to attach to the scope objective?

Just as a PSA and probably bc I can be an idiot sometimes, make sure to check the format when you print these targets. There's a nice measurement reference on the paper to confirm the proper printed size. I'm sure this has been discussed already, but wanted to mention it.
