My personal preference is a sight like the holosun doesn’t really fit anywhere. Too big for a pistol, too small for a rifle. If I’m using a thermal on a rifle it would be more than a cqb type situation so a small frame wouldn’t work. I can’t see using the holosun for anything beyond about 20 yds...
Guaranteed. The tech is evolving really fast, which was part of the reason I decided to let my halo go- it was already pushing 2 years old and they’re coming out with more options monthly. I’d imagine by this time next year there will be something comparable but cheaper to what I just sold. I...
I can agree with this statement wholeheartedly. I find myself wanting the best of anything I’m looking to buy with the thought of “buy once cry once.” At the same time though, a lot of people aren’t the buy once cry once crowd, they’re the instagram/fb flex crowd that wants to buy a g wagon...
Times for me definitely vary greatly. I’ve trapped and caught them mid day before, but most movement for me has been around midnight-2am and again between 5-6am
Nice kill! Curious, why does everyone seem to use smaller calibers for coyotes? Planning on a Texan .457 for deer and coyote, but see a lot of recommendations of .30. Is there any reason really for that?
Trapped a bunch a few years back with marshmallows, but over the past few weeks I’ve had 3 going crazy for the corn I’ve had out for deer. Good luck with it, definitely need some footage!
I’ve been slowly stepping into it, starting with a springer 22. Going to be buying a Texan .457 tomorrow. I’ve been talking to people around me about it and they all look at me like I’m crazy, but hoping to change some minds once they see that it is viable for hunting without disturbing anyone else
My dad taught me safety and how to shoot handguns. Taught myself with rifles, however I was in boy scouts and had shooting and archery badges as a youngin and again as a teenager.
I’m really iffy on the holosun. About to let my halo xrf go and looking for something more budget friendly, but can’t get over the size of the screen on the holosun yet. Hopefully will get to check one out soon
Check any local paintball fields. I have several within an hour from me and 99% of the time they don’t charge me to fill a tank. Might get a hot fill if their compressor is running, but should still be within around 300 psi of what you fill to when cooled.
I’ve been looking for the same type setup. I was recommended the airforce Texan- lifetime warranty and no need to tinker with it frequently. I’m about to order one tomorrow and see how it goes. Definitely will want a compressor or a way (local fire dept?) to fill an scba tank though.
