    FX Quick Connector

I'm trying to fill my new FX Impact M4 Sniper. The parts list includes a dust cap and a quick disconnect female. I didn't receive either of these parts. Did FX stop including these items with the new M4's? My compressor disconnect is about 19mm diameter but the recess in the gun is only about...

    Which is better?

Thanks for all the replies, forgot some and learned a lot about scuba tanks vs carbon fiber. If you have a carbon fiber tank, how do fill it? Do you have your own compressor? Do you take it somewhere to get filled? Thanks again.

    Which is better?

Thanks for that. I hadn't seen it. If my calculations are correct, I can get roughly 1,170,000 rounds out of one scuba tank based on 300 rounds per tank. It would probably be more rounds because you fill a PCP tank before it's empty and it wouldn't consume 580 cc every time. I don't know if...

    Which is better?

A compressor or a scuba tank? I can get a new 80 cuft scuba tank for around $300, a used one that's certified for around $200. A fill will cost less than $20 at a scuba shop, and I'd get the cleanest air possible. 80 cuft = 2,265,348 cc. My gun has a 580 cc tank so I could get about 3,900...

    Small compressors poo-pooed?

I used to scuba and know of the federal requirements for filling tanks which are pretty stringent... humans breath this air underwater. You need a high pressure pump to fill these tanks and it seems all of these high pressure pumps are designed to fill scuba tanks. That means all of them will...

    N/A How to determine FPS

TitanRebel, Thanks for that. I'm a data nut so this will give me hours of wasted time ;) . Seriously, this is great stuff for a newbie, thanks.

    N/A Tuning question

We didn't shoot #5 rifles. We shot target .22's where the barrel was about as big in diameter as some supressors. I've also shot many other rifles. I know what to expect with a 10# rifle. Your suggestion is a bit off. I'm getting a premier PCP rifle and you think I should go buy a toy.

    X-Sight 4K balistics questions

I'd like to understand some of the entries when entering a profile on this scope. Can someone explain Drag function, Ballistic coefficient and Sight height? Is sight height the perpendicular dimension from center of bore to center of optics? I'll be using this scope on an FX Impact M4 Sniper...

    N/A Tuning question

Me too! I started out plinking on an ROTC rifle team in high school. We shot 1" targets at 50', 4 positions using iron sights. I averaged 189/200. Right now I'm using a wildly inaccurate Gamo gas break barrel. My basement "range" is 50 feet shooting 1" bullseyes using a scope and benchrest and...

    N/A Tuning question

Thanks for all the replies. What I'm coming to realize (and all of you have been saying) is I can tune to the extremes of either max FPE of max shot count, or anywhere inbetween, for any particular pellet or weight. And I can do this at any particular FPS. So I could tune for a light pellet...

    N/A How to determine FPS

Hey stovepipe, Thanks for that... makes perfect sense. What I'm coming to realize (and all of you have been saying) is I can tune to the extremes of either max FPE of max shot count, or anywhere inbetween, for any particular pellet or weight. And I can do this at any particular FPS. So I...

    Weight vs FPS

I think I understand why there's no charts for this. I guess, on the extremes, I'm trying to tune for either most FPE or most shots per charge for the perticular pellet I'm using, or somewhere inbetween. Do you guys then develope tunes for the different pellets you like and keep that info for...

    N/A How to determine FPS

What I'm trying to understand is the initial FPS to tune to. If .22 pellets are good for 850-920 FPS where do you start? If 905 is actually best, but I start at 890 and tune to it, how would I know that 890 isn't the best?

    N/A How to determine FPS

The gun and barrel length shouldn't matter to my original question. I want to use all kinds of different pellets and weights in all kinds of different guns. I'm looking for the starting point of FPS to tune to.

    N/A How to determine FPS

Great... what's the initial FPS to enter and how do you determine that.

    Weight vs FPS

I'm trying to understand how one picks the initial FPS to tune to, particularly .22 pellets. Is there a pickoff chart anywhere that shows the relationship between weight and best velocity?

    N/A How to determine FPS

In the video, his FPS range was only 5 FPS. It appears more complicated than you suggest. I'm wondering if there's a pickoff chart of pellet weight versus best FPS.

    N/A How to determine FPS

I just watched this tuning video which I found to be the best so far for tuning an FX Impact. However, he doesn't explain how he determined the original FPS he was trying to achieve. So how do you pick a starting FPS to tune to? Thanks

    N/A Tuning question

I'm trying to understand what the point of "tuning" is? At the top level it seems it's all about accuracy... trying to get the best groupings for a particular projectile. So you shoot a few rounds, watch the chronograph and keep changing pressure/fps to get the best groups. Is this what it's...
