So the dowel broke. Then my worker brought a fiberglass rod, but thinner. Then after a call to super nice (I mean it) Gerry52 I decided to remove the barrel. It was ridiculously easy. There were 3 pellets stuck there and now I know why. Probably one did not fire (I remember some slight whizzing...

So I started tapping with a piece of plank. It moved down by around 3 mm and the magazine seems to be less rigid. I broke the top of the dowel and need to cut it.

The guy in the video put the rifle into pieces to remove the barrel. If I do it, I will end up with a pile of parts that will go to dump.

Good morning WorriedMan. How strong should I tap the dowel? With hand, a mallet or with a hammer? Not knowing the force needed to be applied is one of the main reasons of inability to repair anything.

So I got a dowel and I'm tapping and so far nothing happens.

If the removal will be easy-peasy then yes. If something got damaged due to some factory insufficient quality control then not.

I can pull it backwards only a bit - like 1/4". The magazine will not come out - I don't want to break something. I can not push the lever. It will not move forward even a bit.

WorriedMan. Maybe I did not express it clearly enough: "After 4 successfully shot rounds I could not press the trigger on the 5th one," I have one or two pellets in the barrel.

Keith1. The rifle itself is beautiful and seems very well made. It has power and precision. However the fact that something failed on a brand new gun is a big turn off. I was expecting some problems down the road, but not at beginning of the road. Nonetheless, I'm buying a dowel today.
