Fastest Pellet Sorter in the Works

I am still struggling with "noise" at the moment, despite having a low noise amplifier installed. The problem is really this: I am trying to get better than 0.01 grain resolution from a load cell with 1,543 grains full-scale rating, when weighing a pellet that's only 20 grains in weight. It's...

Excite Hammer pellets tested to +/-0.5%, almost all pellets landed in the same bin. The weighing scale is still noisy, that's the reason for the "outliers". Hats off to Excite Hammer, so far the most consistent (weight-wise) pellet I have tried.

You are correct, my bad. I got confused with so many zeroes. :) "1% tolerance, plus or minus, is already a 2% range. That would actually be too much for an H&N production batch." <---- impressive control in your mfg process. Would be nice to get my hands on a tin of H&N. I do have a tin of...

Pellet Weight Distribution Comparison Here I sorted 1 box of fresh pellets, Brand "A". Then I sorted another box of fresh pellets, this time Brand "B". Both brands are locally-made (Philippines) pellets and the results of the sorting can clearly be seen in the photo. I would conclude that...

This is system noise. It even goes up to +0.08gr sometimes. I have ordered a low noise version of the weighing scale amplifier and hopefully this variation in the readings will go away once the new amplifier is installed. There's another type of error which you can't see on video: "Thermal...

Money-wise, not much because I have most of the stuff lying around the shop. It's just plastic & wood & some aluminum & some ..... Time: Thinking of the concept, how to arrange the parts, layout, etc.... took more than 2 months of hand-waving while alone by myself Fabrication took...

18gr .02gr <--- 0.001% this is not realistic, it is beyond the capability of this machine There will always be some residual noise in any measurement system. I can filter it out by averaging but that will consume a lot of time and slow the process down. I am still looking out for a better...

We're thinking along the same lines. I added a tray and it's not quite self-feeding yet but much faster than one-pellet-at-a-time.

Yes it can be done but what's the point? What you asked for is the same as: "Take 1 bin's contents (the perfect single weight) and lump the other bins contents together." The "Tolerance" can be set to 0.1% which is practically the perfect single weight that you want.

I can make an auto-feeder if needed but head sizing is out of my league ATM. AFAIK head sizing would involve some swaging and is beyond the scope of this machine. Maybe in the future? :)

Sorting 22cal pellets. The LCD display shows the weight followed by the Bin # and the pellet count for that bin. "Typical Weight" and "Tolerance" can also be seen. Both are user inputs and the test limits are generated from these 2 parameters. Pellets are actually being sorted into bins...

    CO2-PCP Conversion Filipino Airguns

Just some info for you. I live in Cavite Phils........ You can use a CO2 fire extinguisher to refill your airgun, just need to make a proper adapter for it. If you have a friend with a lathe then it's easy. The nut for CO2 is standard: Name: CGA-320 Nut Major dia = 0.830" - 14tpi...
