What did you learn today - Airgun related

Shooting a .177 springer on a dark windy February day in Minnesota will definitely increase your scotch intake. Actually I learned this years ago, but I do enjoy a good single malt. Uj

Tuning When did you decide to start working on your springers?

I shoot my under levers a lot and as a highly skilled member here once stated they are either “coming together or coming apart”. Shipping a gun across the country for some simple repair seemed needlessly expensive and worrisome so I made a spring compressor and started doing my own wrenching. I...

    Other Sad stats for springers

76 here and I shoot my .177 under levers in the “back garden” every day. I also shoot hunter piston in our monthly FT matches. The guns range from 11 to 14fpe and so far shooting at the: range, cock, load, aim & shoot pace for 2 hours has not been a problem. I do however own a couple of nice FT...

    HW/Weihrauch Springer virgin

Bean you made (IMHO) the best of all possible choices. Yah clean the bbl and flush that white goop out of the trigger. if you like the the trigger weight and length of pull you’re good to go. If not, consult the Google for the “Shooting at dawn” video for adjustment. Mine all seem to show the...

    Hunter Piston shooters - question?

The only way to shoot a piston gun well is to shoot it…..a lot!

    Hunter Piston shooters - question?

Biggest downside to shooting Hunter Piston is that you’ll likely be the only one in the match. New shooters want instant PCP gratification and trying to coax a PCP guy to bring out his spring gun usually results in a FTS response. Uj

Air Arms Does ARH (Maccari) produce full tune kits for Pro Sport/TX200 MKIII anymore?

I do not own a lathe but have occasional need for a new delrin top hat and spring guide. I’m able to reduce the OD on my drill press if slightly oversized so a generic fit could work. What would be a fare price for these given spring ID? Uj

    Lathe Work

How about delrin springer spring guides and top hats? Is someone willing to make these to size at a fair price? Uj

Air Arms Let's see those TX200-SR's!

That’s the one that caught my eye. Sure would look nice setting next to the “twins”.

    Hunter Field Target "Shooting Sticks"

shooting hunter piston requires separating the gun from the bipod for cocking and reloading. In doing so there is nothing to hold the bipod upright. Rotating the bipod to rest against the knee means having to reposition it for the next shot. My solution is to use a tripod with one short leg...

Shooting out of window cold weather

I also shoot from a spare bedroom window. The mirage can be managed some by reducing the size of the opening. I use 2” styrofoam to cover the open window with a 6”x10” section cut out to shoot thru. This also helps keep the room at a comfortable temperature. Uj

    Winter wind

Question for the learned: is there a difference in the affect that a cross wind exerts on a pellet’s flight path at 80F the same/different than that of the same wind at 30F. Help me out I’m looking for excuses here. Uj

    Hunter Piston shooters - question?

I shoot Hunter Piston class at our monthly matches once the snow melts here in MN. Once you bury the delusion of beating the PCP boys and concentrate on the special demands of the gun, I find the rewards of competing with a springer well worth the occasional (?) aggravation. Uj

    177 pellets and older fingers

I’m 76 with fat arthritic fingers. Most of my stable consists of .177 ul springers and I shoot every day. The key to loading those tiny pellets is gripping them right every time. I have my thumb at the bottom of the skirt, my index finger on the side of the skirt and gently pinch the pellet and...
