Oldbear…. My wife and I just returned this morning from three days of training with Silvino Lyra in Boise. I’d love to trade information; but there is no way that I could help you like he, or perhaps other professional coaches could. He broke down our shooting into the smallest components. From stretching, to dry fire practice, mental work, breathing, trigger work, sighting, eyesight, strength exercises, etc. For the first half of the training, it was the essential basics - sitting position from a bench support. That really works the breathing and trigger and cadence. Once we were in the 90s from a sitting position on a bench with one hand, we were ready to start addressing the instabilities and challenges of the standing position.
If you are ever in the Boise area, I strongly suggest that you make an appointment. His fees are very reasonable and do not break the bank. This gentleman absolutely loves the sport and is very passionate about his coaching!
We trained two or three hours a day for three days. We made tremendous improvement in just 9 hours total of training. And now, we won’t be practicing and reinforcing bad habits. Perfect practice is vital!
