100 YARD PRO RULES FOR RMAC

Could some please explain to me how do they decide how you make the finals for the 100 yard bench rest match at the RMAC. I know you shoot 2 cards to qualify I thought they took the top 20 scores and that is who made finales. but looking at the qualifying scores that did not seem to be. Just trying to understand it all. Thank you

Best way to do it....Each relay will have a different wind condition, so if you have no wind and score really high it's not the same as shooting in the extreme wind that some had at RMAC....So you pick the top (However many you want) from each relay to compete in the finals. Finals everybody shoots in the same wind.

In the absence of time slot and bench rotation....the qualifying system that is used is not terrible. It's the single card final that is a very poor way of determining the winner in a game where scores will vary significantly card to card.

The big 100y pellet matches have enough stability to stand on their own without the other side show events. This would give the time to run a 3 card final with bench rotation and drastically reduce the chance factor.

They could even do this without abandoning the other events with only 2 extra hours. Start an hour earlier and finish an hour later and you would have a much more meaningful event.

I agree with you there....multiple cards for the final would be better for sure....Rotate benches because at least at RMAC and EBR there are berms on the sides and the wind is different near the berms compared to the middle of the range....

I'm not sure what you mean by "time slot", but the qualifying matches are shot on two different days WITH a bench rotation. The final day they redraw for benches, so it is possible, but not common, that you could get the same bench twice, but not on the same day.

There are other events that take place on finals day. It would be tough to get in a 3-target match in the time available. From what I have observed, it would be rare that it would make much of a difference. They could run the Sportsman Finals on the other range, but some like to watch both on finals-day.

They also want to finish a little earlier on finals-day so that those who wish can get cleaned up before the banquet.
