I just put in a TBT kit with short stroke in my TX mk3. It has lowered my energy to 10 foot pounds but it's so nice to shoot. Is that enough for Hunter Field Target or do I add a power washer to get it closer
Thanks

No there is room and I did add one power washer. I did not change any seals they all looked good. I added the washer because after about 40 shots speed was at 703 average. I just shot a string with the washer and average is 746, es 18 st 4. At 10.43fpe. I going to shoot it for another 50 or so and see if I need to add the other washer. In ideal conditions (indoors, no wind and no temperature variations). Should be no problem.
However, in the "real" world, at 10 FPE, just know that for targets past 35 yards, your ranging, your drop and your wind read needs to be spot on. Most springer Hunter FT that I heard about are shooting above 12 FPE (13-16 FPE?).
If it was me, I would try out that rig in competition and practice at home to see if I'm able to adjust under varying conditions (temperature and wind).
I think confidence in your equipment and the ability to adjust will be factors in determining if you want to stick with 10 FPE or make some changes. Historically, there have been shooters using FWB 300 to compete after modification to 9-12 FPE? (per Google search, not sure if it's accurate, I suspect it's closer to 8-9 FPE)
I assume you put new breech seal, new piston seal in there ...maybe the new set up just needs to break in and then it'll pick up some FPE. Log book helps in tracking any changes or how many pellets before it breaks in... or wear down.
Can't remember the TBT kit...with it short stroked...is there still room for a power washer or is it almost spring bound?
I added the other power washer and will see how it does. If I'm not satisfied I will just put my Macarri spring back in and try the short stroke with it. It was at 11.8 without the short stroke kit. I would be fine around 11fpe. I will say it is a totally different shot cycle, quicker and faster lock time.LOL
I'm going to give you a piece of advice that I personally would ignore (cos I'm stubborn and OCD).
Your FPE are soooo close to that golden range (10.75 to 11.5 FPE) that I would Just practice for accuracy and not worry too much about FPE at this stage.
Shoot for accuracy at 40-55 yards. If you see nice groupings, I would leave the rig alone and learn to adjust.

very nice grouping at 25 yards.
oops forgot that you are not WFTF piston. Strike that golden range comment. (tough getting old and forgetful)
Power level isn't critical unless you are shooting where there is a class or legal limit. I would choose the 8.4 gr pellets because your trajectory will be flatter. Yes, maybe more wind sensitive, but so what. All pellets are and you will have to learn how to compensate for each one.
