10m Air Pistol Range in My House

I'm setting up a 10m air pistol range in my front hall so I can get more shooting in this winter. My hall is a little longer than 10m, so just about perfect. I'm not into competition, but enjoy shooting, so I just ordered a Daisy Avanti 747 pistol because it's cheap, but has at least *some* chance for me to hit the target. Maybe I'll have a Christmas morning match!
I ordered a wooden trap with the putty to stop pellets, so shouldn't be too loud, or spread lead into the air on impact. I'll add some doors so I can close it when not in use. Should be fun.

One inch thick will stop a 14 GR. 22 cal.pellet at 800 FPS at point blank range.And it IS quiet,no noise from pellet striking it.

If you do your part that 747 will keep shots in less than 1" so the trap does not have to be too big. It is a super accurate pistol and I use a Gamo trap that I got from P.A.-- works great.

I recently purchased a 747 and will second VETTNUT's comment about its accuracy.
My basement range is marked off at 20', 10 meters, 40', and 50', and features this trap:

From what I understand like me 853 daisy power line. It is ok 2 cycle the bolt and dry fire. Giving you many much more practice time and repetitive trggr time. Great entry level choice for budget minded. Almost bought one meself. But found an original IZH 46 at a price I could afford. And I can dry fire the izh for perfect practice.

Indoor ranges are great. Especially for those of us living up north. Mine's in my basement. My wife always knows where to find me!! Enjoy your indoor shooting.

It's been great this winter since we are having record rain this year! I just shut the cats in another room and shoot whenever I want.

I have a 6yd range at home - just don't have 10m available

For the pellet trap, I use a cardboard box, stuffed alternately with 1" of newspaper & 'glossy' mags, finishing with 2" of newspaper.

The top layers of newspaper needs to be replaced every couple of weeks, but it is no big deal.

Effective and quiet.

I know this is an old post, but I wanted to see how you liked the Daisy Avanti now that you have had it for all most a year? I'd like to get into 10-meter pistol without breaking the bank. I know that Avanti 747 has a Lothar Walther barrel. I was also looking at the Crosman 1701P.

The cheapest and safest pellet trap is a card board box filled with rubber mulch. One bag of rubber mulch costs about $7 from Home Depot or Lowes. It is quiet and easy to sift the pellets out if needed.
