12 or 16 mm barrel

Okay, I'm going into round two of turning my TalonP into a mini slug gun. Wanted a 177 mini slugger. Originally tried with a 12-in barrel along with a couple other members and none of us had any outstanding results no matter what slugs we used. I'm thinking an 18-in barrel in 177. Air Force has both the 12 and the 16 mm barrels in stock. Any pros or cons as to which one and why.
Thanks in advance you all
Mike

Difference will be in weight.. the 12mm will be the best to keep the gun light.. but a shroud will have to be custom in order to quiet the gun.. where the 16mm could be threaded or a DonnyFL adapter could be used not aviable for 12mm . But you will feel the gun front heavy..

A custom shroud is not a problem. As for putting a 1/2 x 20 thread out on a 12mm barrel, you just have to turn a short section of the barrel down, bond a sleeve onto it and then thread the sleeve. My garage is a machine shop. I'm retired now but I've been a machinist all my life.
My concern is with the different barrels were rigidity, weight, harmonics. The 12 mm barrel would obviously have more room between the barrel and the moderator / shroud for sound deadening than the 16 would.
