125 yard 50 Texan Real World Average Groups in wind

First of all I'm super excited to have my Texan back and am glad to be shooting again!!! Over the 1000 plus rounds through my Texan these are a good representation of what my barrel will do. I have had a fluke one hole group at 125 yards before with the 650 grains but I stopped at 3 because I knew it was much better than average. Setting on a bench with front rest rear bench rest sandbag.

The group sizes are for the 650 grain group 3.9 in. 6 shot group

The group sizes for 500 grain 8 shot group 5.2 in

The group size for the 460 grain 3 shot. 3.8 in

My Texan has a full 1in diameter barrel with the carbon fiber sleeve. Everything fits tight. End of barrel threaded with Donny FL keeping things in tension. Shooting tethered to Aqua Environment Regulator set at 3625 psi. I want more consistent accuracy. I think I have to go custom lapped barrel before i.can accomplish that. I'm not bashing Airforce or Lother Wather barrels. For what it was made for it has consistent deer body shots at 100 yards with up.to 800 ft pounds with the 650 grains at 750 fps. I'm pretty spoiled with barrels from my bench rest days. So for my more experienced airgun peers do i buy a custom barrel say Benchmark barrel or have I hit the normal accuracy level for the platform. I have a cold shot mil base and I'm not really able to shoot long range because of accuracy . My current barrel is not horrible but not the greatest either fouls.a good bit. I'm used to looking at benchmark and Krieger barrels which look mirrors inside no machine marks. Thanks Again

I have 5 different molds. These are my best shooters. I have shot a one hole group with the setup. But I have also shot a fluke one hole group from a powder burner barrels after they were shot out. I have in the past bought many barrels from different manufacturers and have had greatly different results. I threw away a shieln chrome moly barrel it coppered horribly bad, if you would scrub it clean it would shoot 3 accurate shots. On the other end of things every benchmark barrel I bought was wonderful. Didn't matter cal or twist. Here's my best group. put not average for sure!!! Rough barrels give different variables of accuracy as the bore fouls. For a factory barrel I think my barrel s probably average. It seems slot of Texan owners are trying to lap there barrels one method or another. I worked in a barrel factory for a little while and learned a few tricks of the trade. I feel horrible now for ruining so many fine premium barrels on real powder burners 😀 I'm going to have to start saving and selling some things for a Benchmark barrel. They have cut rifling now and can cut any twist you want prob go 34 in barrel. Ill prob send them my .510 650 boat tails and make the twist for it at subsonic.velocity that ill be running.

These are my patches from shooting 40 rounds cast powder coated sized to .510. 5th patch after using brush. Have Montana one piece coated rod. This is my first air gun. I know how a custom powder burner with a good barrel shoots and cleans up. No experience shooting Pcp or lead slugs. Have inspected the slugs after being shot in the bullet trap and powder coating staying in tact with rifle ing marks on the one still intact. I have fun learning and improving. No wind today ill shoot again thanks
