1322 Goodness

I have a 1322 I've owned for about 15+ years. I bought it tuned and and with custom grips. Today I was doing some pellet and power testing just to see how it's performing.

I live at about 6000 ft. above sea level. I was shooting 14.3 grn. Crosman Premiers, 15.75 grn Predator Polymags and 15.89 grn. JSB Exacts. The pellet that was most accurate and that delivered the most power was the JSB Jumbo at 7 fpe (455 FPS). It took 20 pumps to get that power consistently.

I do have some 28 grn. RWS pellets that I tried. They develop 7.5 FPE but are only going 350 FPS 3 ft. from the end of the muzzle. That's a bit too slow.

I also have a Crosman stock for this pistol along with some clamp scope mounts. I'd like to make a small light small game hunter out of it but think I need about 3 more fpe.

Anybody know a good tuner that can help me wring a bit more out of this most excellent little rig?

Best bet will be a longer barrel. The internals have also been updated since then (better piston seal design), but the piston/pump arm linkage geometry has changed as well.

You can get a flat top piston, but will need to flatten the front of your valve as well in order for it to work. Best flat top piston I can recommend would be from mountain air custom because it is adjusteable and has a very good seal

With a 14.5” barrel, flat top piston and flat top valve you should be able to get a 40% increase in power. Mellon air sells the piston and valve cheaper than any other site. https://mellonair.myfreesites.net/pistons-valves. He also sells longer barrels.

When you get the flat piston, make sure to adjust it to where there is no headspace between it and the valve. This will make sure you get every bit of air into the valve.
