1400 Yards new Airgun World Record

We used the Christmas holiday in Altaros company to set new World Record in the longest Airgun hit.
The current record is 1400 yards, 1280 meters and was hit a chain wall target of size 22x18"

This is probably the first time in modern history that this record was reached directly by company that is manufacturer of airgun and bullets at the same time.

The target was an chain wall 22x18"

The beginnings of airgun LR shooting in our Altaros team date back to autumn 2018 when we first broke the 400 yards limit with our made prototype rifle M24 and our special made bullets.

Then followed increase distance to + 500 m and 600 yards:

and getting world record in achieving the lowest muzzle velocity difference. The standard deviation of 25 consecutive shots was just only 0.44 fps ( 0.13 m/s )

All these gradual steps and improvements have brought us to the limit of 1400 yards and this a world record.

That's very cool to send any projectile that far using compressed air .. but outside of that accomplishment I'm lacking in seeing or understanding the point ?

More important with any air weapon is at what range you can CONSISTENTLY hit a target of a known size while shooting a gun that is self contained and truly portable ?



Not a negative, not poo pooing the effort ... just thoughts being shared.

Some may say what is the point of pushing the limits. First of all it is great to have the freedom to take any path you want to the pursuit of happiness. It seems in the U.S. that some what to tell you how much money you can make, how big a house you can live in, or what car you can drive and so on and so on. Some on this forum what to tell us what type of hunting or shooting we can do and things like how many shots per fill you really need. I see from pushing the limits in any area in a safe way that does don't endanger people as a way of learning and improving our sport and equipment. I know from the sport of auto racing improvements to the performance and safety of our everyday vehicles has happened. I know this occurs in other areas of our life. So congratulations on this record and the hard work you had to have put into this achievement. Bill

Hate to sound negative but where is the 595 moa in the scope?

That scope is mounted like a normal scope. I shoot long range and have a 150 moa mount. That gets me out to around 900 yds. With the 300 moa mount maxed out the scope is pointed towards the barrel. That would be half way



So I don't see how it could shoot out that far with that setup

Looks like he is using a periscope attachment on the front of his scope. I've seen similar setups on centerfires used for extreme long range. The periscope adds in the additional MOA needed.

Here is 150 moa. So you can see how much 595 moa would be.
