1701p rat it again...

Had less than two hours too play today. So it was a quick visit. Shot three rats and only recovered two. Both of the rats shown were taken at 15 yards. I also missed as many shots on rats at various distances. Am still getting to know this rig so the fault was totally my own. The unfortunate pigeon took one to the head at 12 yards it was in the rafters and had to go. All the kills with old Crosman Copperhead pellets. I had high expectations, my misses made the visit was bittersweet. Next visit will be at night after work during the week. Lots of birds have gotten too comfortable on the rafters. The scope does not have an IR which in part accounted for some of my misses. In the near future she will have an IR scope atop.

Luis, great shooting in such a short time span! Another big fatty rat. Nice photos. Yeah, the optic has to match the guns purposes, definitely need an illuminated reticle in those dark situations! You should acquire a RAI adapter and a AR stock for this setup, made my PRod much more accurate than with the OEM stock...much easier to get a proper sight picture through the scope and easier to steady the gun. Was splitting dandelion stems from 15yds with PRod leaning against a doorway and I’m not a great shot, the stock helps a lot.

+1! RAI adapter can adjust the stock height a little which helps a lot. Also at 15 yards and closer a red dot or fixed. 3-4x scope with illuminated reticle helps a lot. My suggestion is the micro reflex dot that sits really low so the hold over at close range isn’t as much and field of vision is basically unlimited. If you shoot in buildings a lot then I think the micro reflex dot is the ticket. The 2 MOA dot covers the 1/2 inch kill zone nicely at 15 yards.

edit: if you go for IR then the Pard 008 will be super sick on it.
