Back in October I purchased my second pcp, a 1701P.

I am very impressed with this pistol and added some VA walnut grips. I did spend some time shooting it as a carbine and found it to be very accurate.

I needed something portable, light, small in the 10-15fpe range. Enter the 1720T.

I bought this one from lwm211 in the classifieds. Also the TKO stock and Steve Corcoran walnut.

I should have bought one of these years ago. Stunningly accurate, only limited by me.

7.87 @800fps. I will order some spare transfer ports and experiment as time goes on. But for now, just shoot!

Nice pistol and carbine. I'm considering placing an order for some grips. Can the wood forearm on the 1720T be used on the 1701P?

I have not tried it, but I don’t see why not. It’s mounted with the front grip frame screw.

No, the gauge placement is different.

The 1701P's closer to the trigger guard by a few millimeters.

You can if you are willing to swap tubes. Yes, they are compatible.

Actually yes the fore arm fits on the 1701 with drilling another hole in the little metal tab that is used on the prod and 1720.
This one fits tight and ther is nothing holding it on. So now the 1701 looks exactly like the 1720 did in my original post.

My 1720 has been living in an old 140 stock. Today I put it in an AR2078 stock. Tuned to 10fpe with Supermags. Big medicine for chippy.

Your 1720 looks awesome in that AR2078 stock. That was a really cool idea.

Thanks, not my idea, but well worth it as I like the ergo of it compared to the 140 and 160 stocks I have set up for this and my prod.

I agree. Just recently I bought an AR2078B and I really like the ergonomics of that stock. Plus it looks great too.

Those two air pistols are my favorite,I keep mine as pistols, and the accuracy is indeed Great,the 1701 gets plenty of shots per fill, and both are easy to hand pump and make them what you want.

The stick on the 1701 screws off in no time. I just can’t out shoot the 1741 with the 1701.

I hear you.I can shoot the pistols as well as the rifles of a bag,I usually have a Burris pistol scope mounted and set at 7x for about 30 yards. I may have some pictures that the 1720 in a custom stock,nice flat surface for bench work

Now the 1701,at first I had 1700, the trigger was chit, so I put the better trigger group in it and it improved a lot. I got a1701 that already has the great trigger. These are great PCP pistols .I shoot the 1701 the most because it gets a "bunch" of shots on a fill.
Let me just say that in my opinion the Crosman 1701 and 1720 are by far the best PCPs you can get anywhere near their price and that includes rifles. 1/2" groups are common at 30 yards, and some guys can do better. Once you get the hang of shooting them and also the hang of using a pistol scope you will be surprised how accurately you can shoot them.
Pistol shooting is harder and takes much practice, but it is FUNNER.
