.177 AA TX200 Pellet performance comparisons

Below is a photo illustrating the comparison between four different pellets, shooting 10 shot groups, out of my .177 AA TX200, at 18 yards, from my bench located within my indoor range. After installing the Vortek PG-2 Sho Tune Kit, and shooting several thousand shots, this rifle has really settled down and come into its own.

All of the groups shown were shot over a chronograph at one foot from the muzzle, with all of the pellets showing a maximum deviation from the 10 shot string average of 5 fps or less.

This rifle shows a definite preference for the AA 8.4 grain pellets, as I have duplicated this exercise a number of times, never without the same result.

Good shooting, have you tried to take it out to 40-50 yards? Those guns are known to be able to do well at longer distances and may have a more pronounced difference when choosing the most accurate pellets for that rifle.

Curious to see how the Crosman Premiers 7.9gr do if you tried them in both domed and CPHPs.

I shot a large number of Crosman Premier's through my rifle and they just would not perform compared to the others. At 50 yards, with the AA 8.4 illustrated, I can get a +/- 1" group on a really calm day. The Premier's didn't come close to that for me.....

Crossman pellets just don't impress me. H&N Field Target Trophy 8.64grs shoot excellent in my Weihrauch HW77K. You might try them.

My TX200 with a modified Vortek kit (different spring) shoots JSB 8.44 grains like a shot gun. Move up to JSB 10.34 grainers and it is one hole at 40 yards. Just about 2 grains make a world of difference in this particular gun.

The 8.44's run at 860 FPS and the 10.34's are at 760. That may be a / the reason, I don't know, but I do know what works and will use the 10.34 pellets from now on.

My TX200 MK3 .177 FAC also likes the JSB Exact Heavy 10.34 gr 

I have fitted the TBT Kit and shot about 1.500 pellets through it so far 



JSB 10.34 gr = 837 FPS AVG = 2,0 SD = 16,09 FPE = 21,82 Joules

JSB 8.44 = 936 FPS AVG = 1,75 SD = 16,42 FPE = 22,26 Joules

hello guys i am new to this forum but i know a lot about balistics and airguns, next week i am getting hatsan 125 sniper in caliber 0.177 so my question is do you think that a 16 g pellet form 0.177 vs 16 gr pellet 0.22 same gun same power plant woluild have be beter on 0.177?????
