N/A .177 for slugs (primarily at least)?!

Haven’t read this whole thing but if you have a ghost and want to shoot 177 slugs get a 28” barrel you will love it!

Btw I retunlrned the V3 .177 as it was a mistake on Krales part and I ordered a U2 600mm .177 Walnut

Damn. If going out closes faster than I really have to figure… will check tomorrow.That's really strange as my U2 700 valve adjuster was not blocked in the slightest. I believe screwing it in leaves it open for longer, as I had to unscrew mine 3/4 of a turn to tighten up the spread on my U2 700.
Damn, that sounds like a lot of material to carve out.
I'm really wondering how you'd go about adjusting that valve if it's in your way. I wish I would've taken a picture of mine when tuning it before I shipped it out.

got a ghost and it’s one of my favorites, .22 HP and a couple of other barrels, incl a 28 inch in .25 if they would ever get the 1:17.7 barrels out I might get one of those as well but seems like they are unobtanium…Upvote 0
Also for anyone who wants to know, the V3 177 at about 18.2fpe I got between 330 and 350 shots from 300b to 100b

Played with the valve adjuster/housing a bit. Turning it in should make it close faster since the spring sits in the housing against the valve. That said, the part the plenum screws in wouldn’t allow the turn it out anyway. The part has flats to unscrew it so you can probably turn it so that the flat is above the valve house and will allow you to turn it out (or you get lucky and this is how the gun comes to you) but since turning it out leaves the valve open longer that’s probably for (very) high power only?! I turned it in half a turn or so and it SEEMS to tighten spread even more by a little but will see how it goes for a few 100 shots.

Hey guys, been reading for a bit. I have this itch for .177 slugs and wanted some input based on experience if possible. I have a few choices in platform.
Mainly just for slugs for fun really, which of these 3 would you recommend and why? Id be shooting at 100yd and in.

Drs 600mm rather than dreamline due to new block system and heaby twist barrel, AVG x you're playing barrel lottery and p35 as long as you're not looking for a lot of power you'll be alright.
That's crazy to read. I was able to adjust mine out without any clearance issue, I wonder if the 600mm has a different plenum than the 700mm..keep us in the loop still. I'm hoping ti get mine by Monday if not Tuesday at the latest but we'll see what happens. I have plenty of ammo to try and more coming.

Will do! Gonna be interesting to see how yours looks. Btw, turning the hammer out to where it needs to be to open the valve but not more (with maybe 1/4 turn cushion) got rid of the remaining ping as well!

Yeah! I mean if I cheek-weld properly I can still hear some faint ping but in the end it’s metal hitting metal directly next to your ear…
Will send a taipan hammer to Scott this weekend, he’ll put a peek tip on it (the only thing annoying me about taipan is the hammer sound… dang pings)… if it does what it’s supposed to I may finally give in and get a lathe to do it to all guns with this issue. Could bush-fix it without a lathe I guess and use drill press etc but I’d probably mess it up

I believe sub12airgunner did something similar to his Uragan 2 and Vulcan 3 hammer. He did make completely new hammers but ALSO added something to the end of it so that metal to metal contact was gone. It also doesn't help that surrounding the spring is a poor excuse of a half a sleeve or none at all, and the fact that if you remove the stock, you can quite literally stare at the hammer and spring.Yeah! Has anyone looked into the rti mora in .177? It says it's capable of producing 51fpe in said caliber

there are so many nice .22 and .25 that will cycle smooth as butter and do 50fpe on 1 cylinder… in .177 that must cost you anywhere from 2 to 4 bar per shot depending one bottle size. Would be funny for sure Upvote 0
I mean why not? Lol. The mora comes in either 700cc 300b bottle or 1.1L 300b bottle, so plenty of air of anything hahaha. I'd imagine a 50fpe .177 would be way flatter shooting than even a 60fpe .22.Hahaha lol… I mean I get it, I just wonder why
In terms of rimfire I will always choose .172 over .22 but there are clear advantages in that area.
If someone made a .177 heavy enough with a nice HP 50fpe would be devastating instead of being an ice pick.

I’m just trying to imagine a .177 25gr slug… basically two 16gr HN attached to each other, would almost look like a lapping plug and you’d still have to send that plug at 950 to be at 50fpe Jesus…
