N/A .177 for slugs (primarily at least)?!

As my JSAR is set up currently at @ 35 FPE if you accidentally shoot a 10.3 g pellet or light slug it is absolutely supersonic and LOUD !!!
Longer barrels help get the speed up as does a high power valve design.
Leaned on in .177 it can muster @ 40 fpe and it's no joke set as such !!! Just an air hog :(
Hey Motorhead,
Just got through tuning the RAW HM1000x I purchased in December from Utah Air.
It originally came in .25 caliber, but I switched it out with a .177 Lothar Walther N/C Poly barrel I had laying around.
- The OEM regulator was set to 150 bar and was reduced to 125 bar.
- Peak seats added to regulator as well as adding a 5/32" brass doughnut to the Transfer Port to help efficiency.
- Changed out hammer internals and added a SSG with lighter springs as the gun was maxed out due to prior 150 bar set-point.
- Removed some material from the stock so Hammer Spring Adjuster could move back an additional 2 full turns from OEM.

Tried two pieces of .177 cal. ammo: 13.43g JSB pellets and 13g Zan slugs.

* Gun Plateaus at 971 fps w/13.43 JSB's and 962 fps w/Zan slugs (28.12 & 26.72 FPE respectively).
* Max HSA turn out gives 922 and 909 fps (25.36 & 23.86 FPE).

-> The gun seems pretty loud at these settings and is likely not super efficient, but the smaller caliber needs adequate power to push those Zan slugs.

Since we have snow/cold temperatures in Spokane, WA .... I have done nothing other than shooting over my Crony.

Hoping these velocity ranges and the 1:17.7" twist Poly barrel will provide enough stability/flexibility to shoot both pellets and slugs accurately?

No telling until I get out to the range and shoot at 50/100 yards ........ unfortunately this maybe awhile :confused:.

So for now, just stuck with Theoretical guessing ….. but isn’t that fun too 🚀.

I now have RAW HM1000x's in .177, .20, .22 & .25 calibers. Will see if the .177 cal. fills a niche the other can’t :unsure:.

@greenbeans It's here! Also it looks just like yours on the adjustment side of things.

It came with the regulator set to 90 bar but I increased it about eighth of a turn, so it should be between 102 and 105 bar.

I will be shooting it soon to see where it's at.

Awesome!!!! Yeah that’s basically what I did to my reg, too!!! And backing the hammer way out :) let’s see whether we get the same speeds!! 10gr KO 1070ish, 16 grain 925ish!

Hot damn! That's with the hammer back all the way out?! Geez man lol.
Yeah!!! Not all the way out, but probably at least two full turns from flush… balanced valve REALLY wants to blow open… without the hammer backed out the gun sounds pretty unpleasant imho… plus no reason to thrash the valve I guess :)

The first shot from the gum came at 921 feet per second and then jump to 900 and then 888 and 890 905 920. I adjusted the hammer back one turn and it tightened up to 10 feet per second spread. I adjusted it another turn. And it settled between 898 and 902 max across 9 shots. But at that point I can't put on the stock lol. So I bled all the air out, and once I get home again, I will pull the. Regulator out again and give it one fifth of a turn up. That should put me around 960fps with the 16gr. From messing with prior U2's 10-12b is about a 30fps increase/decrease. Accuracy was not bad, but I wasn't shooting off a bench. @RabbitofCaerbannog

Yeah that’s why I carved to buffer stuff in the stock to make the hammer adjuster fit :)

Probably will have to up the reg as well though since the 10gr go too fast/loud and the 16 can use a bit more since I’ll probably settle on those… btw, was shooting groups/strings this morning for a classifieds add and played with the DRS T as well, not too shabby:

I'm also hoping that with the increased reg pressure I can prevent having to mess with the stock.

Thanks! Yeah it’s crazy accurate, those were in 4-5mph wind as well so really happy with it… let’s see whether I get in trouble when I take it to the woods and DEC officer thinks I am shooting squirrels with an AR :)

Definitely an issue with DRS

"bullsh*t' I know a model 700 when I see one"
The T Looks alot like a m110 or sr25

Yeah… I am not sure yet what I am going to about it looks-wise. It feels awesome to be honest (but so do ARs…) but I kinda want to make it more obvious that it’s an airguns… like big gauges, maybe a big ass FX Airguns sticker on the tube or something like that…
