N/A .177 for slugs (primarily at least)?!

Well dreamlines still get to use the same liners that the impact use. They don't have as much adjustability but they shoot just as good. Specially if you use the lighter slugs.

For me, using slugs like VK or Jsb KO v3 10.03gr are amazing and are better than pellets. Why? Because they won't over penetrate, and if for some reason they do, these slugs have hp that expand so good that they are ineffective once they come out. Also with VK slugs when hunting iguanas they could hit the targer as slow as 700fps and that slug will still grenade inside it's target.

The only Fx rifles with 1:16 twist barrel liners are the Panthera/dynamic/king in 600mm and 700mm all others are 1:18

Correct in stock configuration. My dreamline is currently equipped with a 1:16 slug liner in 600. It came equipped with superior..

The question isn't stock or not. It's whether or not they've released a 1:16 liner for .177. I'm pretty sure they've only released 1:18 heavy to this point. Or whether this dreamline classic in the classifieds is STX or STX superior.

My Edgun Lelya .177 shot slugs great. I just couldn’t keep them in the mag. Finally got tired of dry fires and slugs rattling around in my stock. Back to pellets with that gun.
That's usually a problem a for these rotary style magazines with a singular oring in the middle trying to hold a small slug like the 10gr JSB KO. The AT44 has a similar style mag, and the best way for that to not happen is to put longer slugs. Otherwise they need to be perfectly seated in the oring.

It was a no win situation. If I cocked the gun slow it was fine. But then I’d bump it and it wouldn’t be fine. Actually thought about asking a 3D guy to make a mag that was just a snug fit with no oring. Then I just bought a U2. But I had an issue with that mag when shooting up in trees and cocking the gun while pointed up. Just tiny little troublemakers.

Yes but you're referencing the .22 cal, I'm talking about the .177 for those platforms come with a 16 twist in the 600mm and 700mm barrels.

I haven't followed FX too much lately, but if they have liners available for the King, dynamic, panthera, then yes there should be 1:16 out there. But I don't believe there are.

Other options for the dreamlineline and crown are the Wildcat and maverick, and for those platforms you can actually use an impact barrel kit. Although not the other way around.

Alsp there is a brocock compactor with a huma reg for $800 or $900 on AOA @greenbeans

I've heard of some people having issues with ammo falling back out of the mags when pointing up, that is weird.

.25 but same difference. Dreamline. Stock in 25 and 30 is a 600mm liner. 177 and 22 are 500mm stock older dreamlines come with ST-X Liner newer with STX superior 1:24... Across the board. I can't find any 500 or 600 slug 177 liners just superior heavy. Was just a curiosity. As I've said no idea for me how 1:24 in .177 stabilizes slugs. Never shot it. 1:24 in .22 on my notos is fine up to 20gr basically for slugs.
What weight slugs did you find worked in the .177 dreamline

You can order a 700mm 177 Drs but it's done to order. 700 Drs is stock 1:16.

10gr and 13gr KO work wonders in the dreamline. Also if you don't know, you can place the mavericks 89cc plenum infront of the dreamline airtube for extra umph. I believe the old stx liners were 1:24 but as far as I know everything from like 2021 or 2022 and recent is supposed to be 1:18 twist

After 09/2021 dreamlines all come with 1:24 superiors. 500-600drs do come with 1:18.
I'm not sure about maverick and regular wildcats. Would make sense on the Wildcat BT. Larger plenum and dual regulated. Meant to be a slug gun.
They changed dreamline tube regulator styles too in 2021, changed the power wheel from ABCDE-12345 to the 23 position. And the TP Wheel. Also from the standard stx liner lock system of the lock nut being at the muzzle to the super light system with the liner lock at the rear. The breech/TP, barrel connection types are different varieties too. It's a charlie fox and confusing.

Hmmm Utah has the DRS pro system in .177 available (700mm)… but that seems loooong for a .177, plus somewhat expensive for an aexperiment :)

I'm all in with .177 caliber. 3 PCPs and 2 MSPs. I only shoot around the house, mostly target shooting and plinking, but they work just fine on the occasional pest out to 50 yards for me. I'm all pellets though. The ranges I shoot at are well covered by pellets and I've decided that slugs are just not the right ammo for me.

Thank you!! Checked it out, didn’t find anything as to its ability to shoot slugs though?! Given how my ghost does with them I am a bit skeptical :)
Understandable, well the Avenger is known for shooting slugs, they have a 1:15 twist, at least @RabbitofCaerbannog rifle does.

There is also a member selling a sweet dreamline grs for like $1100 or $1200 in 177

Oh nice! Gotta check that out since I really like the Dreamline. Also just checked Krake and they still have U2 compacts on sale for 1.3k to my door (plus $80 fee I guess)…

What caliber do the shoot in the Olympics? What caliber is the most developed in Europe and countries limiting power? You guessed it-.177. It’s the most accurate up to 50 yards and don’t belittle its ability to take down pests. I don’t get this crazy desire to shoot slugs but I do at 100 yd EBR with my RAW HM1000x and it shoots as well as larger calibers. I prefer.177 in springers. The last six rifles I’ve bought have been.177. And yes, I have larger caliber rifles .22s, .25s, and .30s. Each one has its place, but I shoot .177s the most. I’m a paper puncher and appreciate accuracy.

1:16 as far as I know is what mine is. i'm having zero issues stabilizing slugs. In fact with JSB 10.3 pellets. Vs 10.03 slugs. The slugs have the edge on accuracy

I had the same exact mentality as you @greenbeans. I didn't consider .177 "why would I bother with this pissant caliber when I could have so much more". I know @JaceSpace1369 can shoot. He does it professionally and he is decimating the iguana population in Southeast Florida. If the caliber didn't produce results he wouldn't shoot it. He's the one who converted me into a .177 faithful.

1. Neighborhood friendly. Very very quiet.
2. Less risk of damage if a round takes a bad deflection or angle on passthrough.
3.SHOT COUNT. My avenger at 180cc on a 4100psi fill is giving me 80 shots from. 41 to 2400 where I refill (at 20.5fpe)
4. Ammo prices, variety, and quantity
5. Don't need 55-65fpe for sparrow, starlings, doves or small rodents.

With pellets. .177 to me is a 50 and in gun...no matter what. The .02-.027bc of "heavy" .177 pellets doesn't exactly contribute to long range energy.

Slugs are everything in 177 (to me). Definitely levels the playing field with .22 with up to 20gr projectiles. The VarmintKnockers, Take Aim, 10.03 mk3 JSB KO, Zan, and Griffin slugs really expand really fast and really well. Especially the mk3 KO and wide mouth HPs of the VK slugs.
