N/A .177 for slugs (primarily at least)?!

I cleaned the barrel when I adjusted the reg so was clean when shooting… not sure what’s going on with the NSA… they always went slower than the HN (also with the previous tune before I adjusted for the 10gr…). May actually be the chrony, pocket v2 misses a lot of the shots with them… but it’s too consistent for that I guess. I think you’re onto something with the idea of the lead. The NSA chamber very rough for me, HN slide right in with almost no resistance.
I noticed when I was shooting several slugs lately. The NSA slugs chambered harder. I think they may be a bit larger and a bit harder.

There is one thousands difference between NSA .1755 and H&N .1745
NSA is .178 and HN is .1775 so it makes a big difference in feel. The JSB Ko 13.43gr are .1779 and I can tell a difference between then and the NSA

I'm gonna hold off on getting that lead done, until Friday since I won't have to worry about shooting the gun over the weekend. But so far no issue when shooting gridfing 16gr and JSB KO. The issue lies with the NSA 15gr and Griffin 20gr

Yeah it’s really strange, I’ll try to get a bore scope in there one of these days to check out the transition… and in the end, if the NSA keep their accuracy further out and consistently I don’t care about the spread I guess.

P.S.: U3 supposed to be here Thursday ;)

Lucky you! Lol.

I should take my borescope and check the inside of it as well, although I need a better one.

The results could be worse! I believe I remember @Vetmx saying that when tuning balanced valve guns it takes them about a day to acclimate. Regardless though even at 16yds most people can't get groups like that with slugs. Try cleaning your barrel though, that may bring up the speed of your nielsens. My 16gr griffing go 970, while 15gr NSA go 980-990 and 16.5gr VK go 980fps
It takes a day to test your hammer spring setting. Have to make sure you have enough for a little reg creep without having too much and mercilessly pounding the valve.

This is what our barrel looked like prior to tapering.

Both are pictures at the end of chamber beginning of throat. You can still see a small edge where the chamber ends and the throat begins. Reamer was used to clean up the chatter marks some then polished. In other words picture one is after a .177 reamer did the chamber, pic 2 is the No 1 taper reamer as it is cutting the throat for a gradual entrance for the slug. I just took the second picture as I was viewing progress. It was not finished yet. Point being pic one is how you can shave lead. Pic 2 is closer to what you want and what your friend will most likely do.

Keep in mind you are looking at a .177 chamber necked down to .172 rifling. This is drastic compared to what your barrels should look like.

Gotcha that makes more sense, I forgot about that.
