Taipan .177 iguanas?

This gun is slowly becoming a favorite in mi collection. I've made a post or two of killing iguanas with .177, using hornets, another with 10.3gr. I figure the hornets would definitely kill the large iguanas just due to the brass tip. And the 10.3gr I figured they would work on smaller iguanas, but a small alpha, with the 8.4gr??? Definitely made my day, at about 35yds right behind the eye, perfect shot on the large male, and female was just below her eye almost on her upper lip.

Also I have taken plenty of iguanas with the impact set up in 177 as well as my at44, but the at44 was putting out 28-29fpe and the impact was doing 32-36.

I've gotten iguanas with 14fpe but in .22, so this is new for me.

Awesome, and great looking rifle! I wish Taipan would make 177 again. I've been thinking about a Uragan 2 Compact 177 instead.
I thought about that one, but for the price I may as well just set up the impact with a custom 380 177 barrel. Now, the Vulcan 3 177 definitely intrigues me. Also someone is or was aelling a cricket tactical 2 in .177 not sure if anyone snatched that up. Contact @Tamatie he may have another 177, I got mine from him

Heck yeah...why not 177! This year hunting small game I've only used a 177 PCP shooting 13g zan slugs. I haven't lost a one.. shot placement is the key... If there isn't a good shot. Don't shoot. Just that simple.. great job man. Keep popping those lizards!!
Damn right! Many people just have the miscon that because iguanas are so rugged that you need something larger. But I've taken them everything from .177 to .35 and anything larger than .177 I prefer you use slugs that expand and nearly fragment as soon as it enter the body cavity or makes contact

For my shooting I need a lower profile than a bottle bullpup. I had a Maverick and Cricket Tactical 2 60, the scope just gets too high. The Uragan is a lower profile design. My P35 with its cylinder also works. It just seems like bottles are all the rage now.

I've never shot an iguana. My P35-177 has killed 9 squirrels for me so far, however. They might take a step or two after impact but they fall quickly. It shoots 10.6 grain H&N Baracuda Match at nearly 900 fps. About 19 fpe. Seems like it should work. One nice thing about a 177 for shooting at animals in trees is the relatively low bc means the projectile will not carry as far and will have lower energy when it gets back to earth. Safer. My P35 gets about 100 shots per fill. Doesn't seem like it needs a bottle.

My taipan vet 1 is currently shooting 10.3gr at 880 and is getting 150 shots from 250-105bar. And it's put a hurt on over 100 iguana already
