.177 Pellets for hunting

My non scientific thoughts .... SPIN RPM as faster one shoots any said pellet / slug, greater is the RPM at exit of muzzle.
Being JSB Beasts as well the H&N Sniper magnums are so long and a typical barrel in .177 is @ 1-18 twist there about, the length of these pellets simply won't stabilize at lower speeds most PCP's are capable of shooting them at.

I've been fortunate in having 3 different Balance valve equipped high output PCP's capable in sending .177 cal 15-16 grains quite easily into the 1000+ fps realm and remain efficient doing so.

Totally understand the limits of rotational stabilization. Diabolos are stabilized by aerodynamic drag and having the C of G forward of the C of P. Shouldn't require spin outside of exiting the muzzle. Just curious as to whether cylindricals are more reliant on rotational stabilization than wasp waisted skirted pellets

Indeed, when shooting those long guys 950 to 1020 they do very well, tho will state pesting accuracy at 100y is sketchy at best.
Now 15 grain NSA's at 1020 the 100 yard game if needed there a much better choice.
Agreed! I shoot the NSA 12.5gr somewhere around 1060-1070 from my U2 600mm .177 and they are accurate out to distance.
That gun has always struck me as very ugly. At the same time it appeals to me because of the compact size and the fact you can fold it in half and just stow. If only there was a way to shoot it as a pistol too, would be the perfect gun.
You know, I thought the same thing initially, but once it's in your hands, it's a whole different ballgame, under 4lbs with a carbine pistol that can be as short as 24" or as long as 30" barrel length depending and scope depending is nuts. I used to use the G-Sling and would carry it on my back while carrying my impact, never was fatigued doing so. Also it shoots more like a firearms due to the recoil which is honestly kind of cool. It is a single shot, but frankly breaking it open to shoot was also fun to do.

By buddy ran over his with his F250, all that happened to it was it got a few scratched and the plastic end cap got slightly mangled. That was a $35 fix, it still shot lights out to 50yds with 34gr pellets going 854fps.

Check out the Mordax. Similar in size to the leshiy. The stock folds in half as well as can be removed to be used as a pistol instead of a carbine. As far as I know the smallest cal it comes in is .22. Have one myself. Its pretty cool. Also semi/fill auto.
